Chalk Paint

Well I didn’t take any photos until lunch time today, when we went to Red Elephant with the fam after church.

Aaron drew Emerson a frog and a puppy, and she was really impressed.

She was super sweet giving goodbye hugs to Mandy and Aaron.

After lunch, we went home and all three of us napped for a little bit. Then we headed out to Nana and PopPop’s house to hang out with them and eat dinner.

On the way there, we had to slam on the brakes and honk the horn when a kid on a skateboard flew out in front of us on Tennessee Street. It was a really stupid decision on his part. And Emmie was concerned about all the hub-bub too.

And you can bet, I will never pass up some photos when me and my girl wear matching dresses!

And some special photos of my beautiful baby girl!

Cheesey selfies!

She wanted to swim in the Mickey pool, but she was literally only in the water for like 45 seconds, before she was done. She got out and took off her swim suit, walked around for a few minutes, and then took off her swim diaper too and walked around the back porch naked! She is such a mess.

After getting her clothes back on, we played on the porch for a while, with a new bouncy ball and her horse & carriage, while dinner finished baking.

I had been sitting with my legs in a V while we rolled the ball back and forth, then she came over and sat down in front of me, with her feet on my leg.

We had meatloaf & mashed potatoes (from Sam’s!), with green beans, and it was so good! Emerson ate a ton of the meatloaf, which actually surprised me. But she’s usually a fan of anything she get to dip in ketchup! 😆

We had some more play time after dinner, and worked on a couple chalk paint projects.

FYI – you can make your own chalk paint from “regular” paint, by mixing 1 cup of paint, ½ cup baking soda, and 3 tbsp of water. Super easy, and much cheaper than buying a can of fancy chalk paint.

I painted this old plastic gold-ish frame, and these little pedestal things that were a very 90’s light pink.

We went home after finishing our projects, and got this little tater tot ready for bed time. She had a quick snack, and then she was ready for books & lullabies.

I I have some dishes I’ve been neglecting and letting pile up over the weekend, so I’m going to take care of those first, before I settle in and get comfy for the night. Jeff also has some laundry to take care, and a few loads to fold, so we’ll fire up a show on Netflix while he does that. We’ve had lots of good family time this weekend, and I’m very thankful for that!
