Butternut Squash Soup

After Emerson’s grumpy start to the day yesterday morning, she was much better today and we had two sweet happy girls at their respective drop-off’s!

For lunch today, our little group went out to celebrate Toni’s birthday. I threw out a bunch of options for her to choose from, and she chose Venebites to try for her first time, and I was excited about that too!

I got the same arepa I’ve already had twice before, because it’s so good I can’t not get it. But my friend Heather tried something new and got the patecon, and it looked delicious, and she said it was delicious. Maybe I’ll branch out and get something new next time. Maybe…

Then skip ahead to dinner time, where we had another random hodge-podge of different things for dinner, with all of us eating something slightly different. I’ve had this carton of soup in the cabinet that I’ve been wanting to try for a while, and finally just went for it tonight with a grilled cheese, and it was really good. It was light and kind of pumpkin-y almost, and just very fall-ish.

Jeff had some computer work to do for one of his side businesses tonight after dinner, so the girls and I went back to play in Addison’s room for a little while.

Then I got the girls into their jammies and ready for bed. Jeff was able to take a break from his work to help get Addie Pie to sleep, while I read books and devotionals to Emerson, until she actually fell asleep while I was singing her lullaby to her.

Then Jeff went back to the computer to do some more work, so I put my favorite (Christmas) nightgown on, and sat down in the recliner, with a “autumn coffee shop jazz” video playing on YouTube, and read my Kindle book on my Kindle phone app for about 30 minutes while he worked.

I think Jeff has some more work to do, so I’ll either read some more, or watch an episode of Survivor, but I haven’t decided yet…
