Bubble Bath

We had such a great day today!

Cinnamon rolls for breakfast, followed by playtime in the carport and front yard for a while in the glorious weather.

Around 11:00 a.m., I left these two in the hammock in the front yard, while I went inside to wash dishes and get lunch ready.

Look at that tiny little squishy belly poking out! 😍

Emerson had her recent favorite of homemade uncrustable, Jeff had leftover chicken and rice, and I had leftover pizza.

We put her down for her nap after lunch, and we took some time to chill and relax. I gave myself an at home manicure and pedicure, and I was very pleased with my results. I actually got this tiny Color Street sample from the Trough or Treat at Redemptive Love a few weeks ago, and I was able to apply to two fingers on both hands, and I think it looks cute!

Jeff ran out to Walmart to pick up our weekly grocery order, and once Emerson woke up we got ready and loaded up in the car, and headed out to Grammy and Papa’s house.

Last night, we put together 64 operation Christmas child boxes for church, with the monetary donations from other church members. They were still more money left over, so my mom and grandmother went shopping again today, and cleaned out a few more Dollar Tree stores around town, buying over $300 worth of stuff. So today, we put together another 64 boxes!

While we worked on the boxes inside, this little crazy girl decided she wanted to get in the pool! She didn’t even have a bathing suit, but she went in and her undies and t-shirt. Neither of them went in very far, but they did stay out there for 15 or 20 minutes, which is way more than I thought It would last!

So with the 64 boxes we did yesterday, and the 64 we did today, plus a few others that were already at my parents house, this is 136 total boxes! Our church goal is somewhere between 300 and 400, so I think we’ll meet that goal!

After Emerson got out of the cold pool, she got straight into a giant warm bathtub. She got in Grammy’s jacuzzi tub, and loved the jets. We also put in some soap while the jets were on, and the bubbles went crazy!

She wore the new pair of jammies that they gave her last night, and even got her hair partially blow-dried after bath time.

We had a hodgepodge dinner of last night’s leftovers plus some grilled cheese sandwiches, which was simple and yummy. Emerson ate extremely well, and ate wayyy more ham than anyone would believe! And since she ate so good, we let her have a blue popsicle for dessert.

She put on this little tiger mask, and went around growling at everyone and then making All of us take turns putting on the mask and growling back at her.

Then out of nowhere, she got extremely entranced by Guy fieri on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, and just stopped in her tracks and stared up at the TV for a few minutes!

She finally pulled her rocking chair over to plop down in front of the TV, put her hands behind her head, and leaned back like she was just in perfect relaxation mode. Grammy also gave her a little tiny coin purse with 10 $1 bills in it. She was super excited about it, as her and grandmother counted it out. Her eyes went wide, and she said, “Mommy, do you think I could get two toys with this?” I said, “Yes, baby, I’m sure we can find you two things to buy with your $10.” Papa was giving her a hard time about wanting to go get Dunkin Donuts and coffee, and that Grammy likes coffee, so Emerson very sweetly said, “Okay then, two toys and one coffee for you,” and pointed her tiny finger at Grammy. It was the sweetest thing!

We made sure to leave their house at a good time tonight, since we stayed so late last night, but we came home and still got her straight in bed at mostly her normal bedtime. She was very excited she remembered to bring home Goldfish the dinosaur (yes, she named it “Goldfish”), and very excited to sleep with her.

The day as a whole was pretty chill, but it was nice to spend the morning with our little three fam in the afternoon and evening with the grandparents. Tomorrow is going to be a big day and a busy day, so I’m glad today was low-key.
