Broccoli & Pineapple

Addie Pie was really serving with this fancy pose for sister pics this morning.

And Emerson had set up her stuffed dog “Chocolate” for a little bit of tablet time for the day.

At pick-up time this afternoon, Megan and I both picked up our big girls first, and then just happened to park at daycare at the same time, so of course the cousin crew was all super excited to see each other.

I made teriyaki chicken in the crock-pot this morning before dinner, and added a little pineapple juice and a few pineapple rings this time too, and the meal tonight got rave reviews from my oldest.

Also, Emmie’s drink got spilled into her chair before dinner, so Jeff switched chairs with her, and then just sat on a tiny little stool instead. So that’s why he looks like he can barely reach the table.

Emerson ate like five or six more pineapple slices, and Addison went crazy on the broccoli, eating not only hers, but taking Jeff’s from his bowl and eating his too.

Poor nugget accidentally got into a little scuffle in the slide at school today, and got that little scrape on the side of her face.

Both before and after dinner, Jeff and Emmie spent time working on her project for her gifted class. They each had to make a little tenement room, and then they will stack them all together at school and make a whole tenement apartment building. They have been studying Ellis Island and early 20th century immigrants, and tomorrow wraps up that section. So in addition to their tenement houses, they are also supposed to dress up like kids from the early 1900’s.

Addie was very cute with her little book of colors at bedtime tonight, pointing to different colors on her shirt, and then finding that color page in her book. She kept telling me each new one was her favorite, and by the end, she had about four or five favorite colors. Blue, red, pink, brown, and white, I believe…

We’re still slowing making our way through “The Rings of Power” series on Amazon, but it takes like two nights to watch one episode, since y’all know I be fallin’ asleep on the couch after like 30 minutes…
