Today was Spirit Day Friday, so Emerson wore her Growing Room t-shirt to school today. I wanted to put a purple hair clip in her hair, but I couldn’t find it. But she was determined to have a hair bow anyways (she gets very attached to your ideas & suggestions), so we picked out a different one, that was just as cute! She’s also wearing some new-to-her bubble shorts, and new kitty cat shoes! She had these in a smaller size, and we all loved them so much, we bought them again!
We had another great morning drop-off, where she walked straight into her classroom, and while I hung up her bag on the hook, she went right to her teacher, and sat in her lap, sweetly eating her muffin! She saw me leave and I waved and said “I love you!” and she just sat there so content, munching away. Makes me so proud and happy when we have easy drop-offs like this!
Last night’s chili was even more delicious today for lunch. This stuff is just so yummy! I actually didn’t feel like reading today though, so I worked on a special blog post for tomorrow, watched a few videos on my phone, and then worked on September’s 1-second-every-day video, which I’m a little behind on making…
It appears Emerson had another good day at school today! I love this photo of her wearing a smock and painting, just like a teeny tiny arteest!
Jeff’s training course ended yesterday, so he was back at work like regular today. But they still close down his office building every Friday at 5pm to work on the carpet/asbestos issue, so he got off at 5 instead of 5:30. Which was good, because I had a work emergency super late in the afternoon, so I had to stay late, and didn’t get to leave until 5:30. We still ended up all getting home with 30 seconds of each other though!
Emmie and Daddy did their usual pre-dinner stuffs, while I scrambled some eggs for dinner.
I made breakfast burritos with Jimmy Dean sausage patties, fresh scrambled eggs, and a veggie medley I sauteed last night, plus salsa & cheese of course. I also cooked up some frozen O’Brien potatoes to go with the burritos, and it was all really yummy! We do breakfast for dinner frequently, but usually that means pancakes & eggs. But breakfast burritos for dinner was a great idea, if I do say so myself! 🙂
Emerson really went to town on dinner tonight. She ate a TON of her own food, and then had at least three or four bites of each of our burritos. I mentioned I should have made her a tiny size one, and she latched on to that, and really wanted one. So I used a bowl to measure a smaller size, and cut it out of a big shell, and made it a little toddler sized burrito, which she absolutely loved!
And then she had some fun with the outer part of the shell 😉
And even though I was stuffed from dinner, Jeff asked Emerson what kind of dessert she wanted, and the two of them decided they needed ice cream. So we went to DQ for ice cream cones.
And she was being super nosy looking at this lady on the other side of the partition, she was literally climbing up me trying to get a better look.
She loves finding the moon at night!
She wanted to hang out in Mommy’s bed for a while (yes, it’s only “Mommy’s” bed, as she always calls it, not Daddy’s too), so we played and tickled and laughed, and had fun for a few minutes before her bedtime.
Then she was somehow still hungry, so she had some more cereal and water while we did bedtime books.
She needed extra songs and hugs again tonight, so it took a little longer than normal before she was ready to lay in her crib and go to sleep. But she’s been in there for a while now, quietly just sleeping away. It was a great night as a little family, full of lots of laughs and a silly little toddler. Looking forward to lots more family time tomorrow!
