Blowing Raspberries

All of us were up pretty early today, for no real reason… But Jeff left home around 7:30, to drive to middle Georgia, to meet up to get the boys for their Christmas break. The girls and I spent the morning at home, being lazy and playing and eating breakfast, and just taking it kind of slow.

It’s hard to tell, but in these first few photos, the girls were blowing raspberries. Emerson did it for like 10 minutes straight, just walking around, climbing under the bed, playing with blankets, all the things, just blowing raspberries everywhere forever. Emerson and I were laughing so hard at her.

But because we had woken up so early, they didn’t make it to normal lunch and nap time, since they were so tired. So they had “lunch” at like 10;30am, quickly followed by naptime, in which both of them were asleep in their beds by 11am.  While they napped, I cleaned the living room, washed the dishes, showered and had my lunch too.

Jeff met up with the boys (and their mom) around lunch time, and then they were back on the road heading back to Tally. The boys slept most of the ride home, but Jeff was just happy to have them 🙂

Addie napped for about 3 hours, but by the time she finally woke up, we got them dressed in matching Snoopy Christmas shirts, and headed over to Nana’s house. Jeff’s younger brother and his family were in town from Georgia, and we had a great afternoon/evening hanging out with them. Emmie loves her cousins so much, and was so happy to get to play with them for a long time.

The girls baked cookies, and iced & decorated them. Jeff and the boys came straight to his parents’ house with us, and got there right as dinner was finished cooking. We all had dinner together, and then we stayed a little too late (well, past the girls’ bedtimes for sure), just chatting. We made sure to get out the tripod and get a group pic of everyone!

Emerson needed a nice warm snack when we got home, so she had some butter noodles, and ate way more than I expected her to. (She actually ate way more than usual allll day, with everything I gave her, with a million snacks too, so maybe she’s having a tiny growth spurt.) She was easy to get to sleep after her snack though, which was good, since Addison was difficult to get to sleep again… Jeff is actually still rocking her, so hopefully she’ll give up the fight soon and finally go to sleep.
