It’s our 6th anniversary today! I published a special post first thing this morning about our past anniversaries, so click here if you haven’t seen it yet. So since it’s our anniversary, we treated ourselves to a nice, super yummy breakfast this morning!
We actually still have quite a collection of gift cards we were gifted when Emerson was born (I tend to hoard these and forget to use them!), so thank you to the Turner’s (our music minister/choir director & his family) for contributing to our breakfast fund today!
Emerson and I both LOVED the grits – check out this picture for proof…
Then we headed to the Civic Center to check out the One Week Boutique consignment sale. The main goal was to look for a car seat that Nana could keep in her car, but we struck out on that one. Megan had also asked me to look for some jammies for the triplets, so I found 3 new pairs for them. For Emmie, we got 2 fancy dresses, 1 super soft jacket, 3 pairs of shoes, and 1 pair of slippers, all for $45!
We had to go return a few things at both CVS & Target, and Emmie found this cute little kitty cat water bottle that she just had to have. But she’s still learning how to drink from a bottle like a regular person, so we’re working on that.
Oh, I forgot to mention we also got a cat onesie, and a Cinderella carriage! The blue sneakers on the far left are Adidas, and the ones one the far right are TOMS (both of those pairs are too big for right now though, so we’ll put them away for later)!
And these are the jammies for the triplets. I also told her I’d go through some of Emmie’s smaller clothes, and see what we can pass down to share.
The new pink shoes fit perfectly for right now though, and Emerson loves them!
We played for a few minutes before lunch and nap time, and she was loving her new carriage! She tried to put a puppy in it, but he was too big. So then I helped her find the tiny pig & chicken from Moana, and she was so pleased they fit in the carriage with Cinderella!
She had leftover Chick-fil-A for lunch, plus some extra mac & cheese we had from a couple nights ago. She ate a ton, and drank some more of her kitty cat water, and then she was ready for nap time.
I put her down right around 12:15, then I washed last nights dishes, took a shower, and wrote the first half of this blog post today. While I did all of that, Jeff worked on a few loads of laundry. Once Emmie woke up from her nap, we packed up allllll of the things she needed for her first sleepover at Grammy’s new house, plus stuff for tomorrow. Then we loaded up and headed out to Grammy’s new house!Jeff helped put together their new hand-me-down crib, and we brought over a sheet and some stuffed animals & a blanket to make it feel familiar for Emerson.
He showered once he was all done, we gave Emmie lots of hugs and kisses, and we set off for our anniversary date night! One of our most favorite restaurants in town is Harry’s. We actually ate there the night we got engaged, and lots of other special occasions like birthday’s & such, and it was so super delicious tonight! We shared the Jazzy Shrimp appetizer, the bourbon glazed salmon (plus a side of cheese grits), and Oreo beignets for dessert. It was all soooo good. We shared so we could save room for movie theater popcorn, cuz it’s basically one of my favorite foods.
We had some time to kill before the movie, so hung out on the veranda for a while, watching the sunset and enjoying time with each other.
We are now at the movie theater, with a large tub of popcorn & a root beer to share, and we’re going to watch Joker. I’ve only been to the theater to see a movie two other times since Emerson was born, so it feels like such a treat! Plus, I loooooove movie theater popcorn.
Gonna go ahead and publish this post while we wait for the credits and trailers to start, and then enjoy the rest of our anniversary with my sweet hubby!
