Biscuits & Paper Cranes

I’m gonna hurry through this tonight, because I just really wanna paint my fingernails when I finish 🙂

We met up with friends for breakfast at Maple Street Biscuit Company, wayyyy out in Killearn, to get away from the FSU side of town, since it was parents’ weekend.

You can’t tell, but the pile on the right is a hash brown, with cheese, gravy & and a fried egg, and it was delish. But honestly the real star of the show was the plain biscuit with the strawberry jelly.

These are our friends Ashlee and Louis, but we hadn’t seen them in almost a year, so we really missed them! Spent over 1.5 hours chatting and catching up, but this was the only picture I got of them.

After breakfast, we went to the Experience Asia festival for a while. But honestly, it was way too hot, with no shade, and there wasn’t much to do. We wanted to eat lunch there, but the lines were super long, and it just wasn’t worth it with two hot, grumpy, too-hungry girls. So we didn’t stay long.

So instead, we did a quick shopping trip to Marshall’s, followed by lunch at Blaze pizza.

Then we went back to Nana & PopPop’s house. Emmie tried on this new dress Nana got her and worked on a little apple “recipe” with Nana. Addie slept for like 2.5 hours, and the rest of us may have nodded off in the chairs and couches as well.

We had a little bit of playtime outside, until Emmie got a splinter, and then it was a very traumatic and dramatic 30 minutes trying to slowly and carefully extract that.

But here’s the cute little apple slices she made. It was a mix of cream cheese, honey & vanilla spread on top, with plenty of sprinkles, and her choice to add eye balls on all of them.

We had delicious stuffed peppers & meatloaf from Costco (she likes to make both so they have lots of leftovers to keep & share), and both girls absolutely killed their dinner.

It was time for bed once we got home, so Emmie had a snack, and we read some books and devotions, and said our prayers. She was a little clingy and didn’t want me to leave, but I promised to go back and check on her later.

Addie on the other hand was out like a light in no time flat.

I finished this whole post in about 20 minutes flat (even writing almost my normal amount of words, per my word counter!), so now I’m gonna finish my show and paint my nails! 🙂
