So we bought this birdie bathing suit on super clearance last summer, and she grew it into this year. She wore it one time to her friend Joshua’s birthday party, and then it accidentally got misplaced for three months. Then this past weekend, I finally found this folded up in a pile of her pants in the wrong drawer! She was super excited I found it, but asked very many times, “Why did you put it in the pants drawer, Mommy?” But I have no idea why!
And I was personally so glad I found it, because I love this little suit. She looks beautiful in it! Oh, and she let me do her hair this morning, which is rare since she usually likes when her teachers do her hair. But I think I did a pretty decent job of it!
And you guys, look at all these great photos we got from water day today! She clearly had to much fun with all her little friends! I love that she’s getting to do these fun water Fridays every week this summer!
OK so Jeff and I both fell asleep on the couch last night, and didn’t paint the second coat on the cabinet doors. At lunch time today, Jeff chose to take a nap, so I skipped our walk and painted on my lunch break. And that was actually a little workout in itself, with all that squatting and kneeling and such, since we have them all laid on on the floor to paint.
Jeff and I both went to pick up Emerson from school together, and then headed by Home Depot. We let Emmie pick out a new flower to plant in her little pot (since the last one died), and we grabbed a couple more colors of gold-ish spray paint to try, since the one we got last weekend wasn’t quite right.
We grabbed burgers and nuggets on the way home, and had a picnic in the front yard for dinner. Then we just played around for a little while in the grass, with her running and jumping and having so much fun.
We also planted her new flowers, and then watered them, and we’re hoping these do better than the last ones!
We had some couch snuggles with Olaf to calm down and cool down before bedtime, then got ready for bed. We sat on the floor watching Mother Goose say her nursery rhymes, with Emerson sitting in front of me while I took out her ponytails and brushed her hair. It just felt like a really sweet moment, and I enjoyed it very much. But this is what her hair looked like afterwards, since it had been pulled up all day!
So we’ve finally finished all of the paining part of the kitchen reno project. The next steps will be to put all the handles on the doors, followed by the hinges. We think one of the two colors of spray paint we bought tonight will actually match the handles we have, so we’ll spray paint the lower hinges to match the handles. After that, we’ll attach the hinges then hang the doors back on. I think it will honestly take us another four to five days, considering all the things we’ve got coming up, so I’m just crossing my fingers we can at least finalize everything by next weekend!
