Bell Bottoms

The girls were looking extra adorable in their matching bell bottoms this morning!

Emerson was really upset and throwing a fit about wearing a plain white shirt at first. (She even suggested we draw matching stripes or a flower on it ourselves.)  But with a stroke of genius, I told her she could pick out any sticker she wanted to wear today, and she loved that idea, and she immediately calmed down and got dressed! Mom win!

And of course goofy little Addie Pie took off her socks and shoes in the car, and put one of them on her hand, before we made it to school today.

Emerson and Daddy had a good drop-off today, and looks like they got some loves in the car line while they waited.

One of my favorite authors, Louise Penny, released another new book in her long-running and beloved Inspector Gamache series earlier this week. This newest book is #18 in the series, and I’ve read and loved all of them And my favorite book-ish podcast interviewed her this week too, so I listened to that this morning, and loved it. I’ve got the book on hold at the library, but it’s a looooong holds list, so it’ll probably take a long time.

I didn’t actually have time to make my homemade tuna for lunch today – so I just threw the whole can & can opener (with a little tupperware for mixing) into my lunch bag, and made it at the office today! I even had little packets of mayo & mustard, and brought my nearly-empty jar of relish from home too 😉

Addison looks like she had a great time out on the playground today.

I made some air roasted chicken tenders in the Ninja tonight, that turned out SO good. I just seasoned with Trader Joe’s ranch seasoning, plus garlic powder, onion powder, S&P, and they were really good, and super easy. That mushy pile of butternut squash mixed with spinach I got in a frozen blend from Aldi on the other hand, not good…

Addie was fussing a lot at dinner and not eating, but Jeff pulled her chair over directly next to him, and then she was happy as a clam and ate so well at that point.

Cheers-ing their Danimal’s yogurt drinks together 🙂

Emerson asked if she could have carrots for an after dinner snack – as if I would say no to that?! She grabbed them herself, and even got a little silicon cup thing, to put a few of them in, and sat there munching away for like 15 minutes.

Then, after getting some of the dinner stuff cleaned up (and randomly peeling/slicing a mango we got at Aldi the other day for all of us to share), Emerson was a super sweet helper, while her and I picked out & folded clothes to pack, for our upcoming mini getaway this weekend…

I got all the clothes for myself and the girls packed, and Jeff’s in charge of his own stuff later tonight.

Emerson was really sweet and easy at bedtime tonight, but Addison was fighting sleep super hard, and needed to be rocked for a long time before she finally gave in.

The girls are both going to school for a half day tomorrow (and Jeff is working a half day), but I have the whole day off. I plan on finishing up the last minute packing stuff, cleaning out & packing up the car, and cleaning up the living room. (I hate coming home from a trip to a messy, cluttered house.) But tonight, I just wanna repaint my fingernails 🙂

Oh, and about our trip! My old college friend Bridget, who now lives in Indianapolis, is using her mom’s timeshare points in Destin for her 5-year anniversary trip this week. They had just enough points leftover for one room for the weekend, and they invited our family to go over and hang out with them on their anniversary! Such a sweet offer, and of course we took them up on it! So we’re heading over to Miramar Beach tomorrow, and we’re so stinking excited!

I won’t be blogging for a couple of days, but I’ll do a weekend recap when we get back on Sunday night! Y’all have a good weekend!
