Beautiful Spring Day

I made Emerson an egg sandwich for her breakfast, and made myself a shallot/mushroom scramble, and we let Jeff sleep in a little bit today so he skipped breakfast.

Addison had a few bites of scrambled eggs too, and then I fed her a little tub of fruit/oatmeal/baby food stuff.

We had some groceries to pick up at Walmart, and we all went together. Emmie and I ran inside to look for some Pioneer Woman stuff for my MIL, and then we loaded back up to go get the grocery pickup around the corner.

And as usual, Addie fell asleep in the car.

We kinda just chilled a little at home, put away the groceries, tidied up a little bit, and just hung out for a bit. We had all the windows open because the weather was perfect and we wanted some fresh air, while still indoors for the morning.

Emerson didn’t want any of the “main courses” I offered to fix her for lunch, but chose a “snack plate” instead, and she wanted to make this little face all on her own.

After we got Emerson and Addison both down for their naps, I started making lunch for Jeff and I, but he fell asleep, so it was just me an my tuna sandwich and Caesar salad, watching another season finale of Survivor!

Emmie and Addie both had great naps (as did Jeff), and Emmie just colored for a little bit while I finished up the reunion episode after the season finale.

Then we all got ready and headed across town to meet our friend Britteny for a park play date for Emerson and Elly! It was such an absolutely beautiful day today, great warm weather, beautiful blue skies. Just a perfect Florida spring day!

Addie rode around on Daddy’s back for almost the whole time, and was just so quiet and chill and happy. She’s honestly just the easiest little angel baby, and we’re still always so thankful for her mild & gentle little personality so far 🙂

It was almost 6pm by the time we finally got the girls pulled away from each other and loaded up in the cars (after many tears shed by Emerson because she wanted to stay all night), so we just stopped at a new taco food truck that’s about half a mile from our house. Actually, we got Chick-fil-A for Emmie first, and then got tacos & burritos for ourselves.

Jeff got me the quesa-birria taco (left) and two carnitas street tacos (right), and they were both good. Good, but not great, and definitely not good enough to take the place of any of my current favorite Mexican places around town that I already love so much.

Both girls were a sweaty mess from the park (and Emerson was covered in black smudges from the black rubber tile mulch, and her feet were almost pure black from running around in it barefoot for a while), so they both had a bath after dinner. Emerson was exhausted at bedtime, and also super incredibly sweet. While I was hugging and cuddling her, she got serious and was like, “I just can’t ever get enough Mommy loves.” And then I melted into a puddle…

Addison was a little bit tougher to get to sleep, because she was fighting it hard tonight, but after a little extra milk (a little while after finishing her regular bottle), she finally gave in and went to sleep. We’ve had a pretty slow, chill Saturday, and that was just the kind of day we all needed together. Gotta wash some baby bottles, and then just sit back and relax some more for a little bit.
