Beautiful Bean Family

We woke up to a delicious home cooked breakfast today, done tag-team style by Bo & my mama. We had sausage, egg & cheese casserole, cheese grits, toast and fruit, and it was so good.

Then we had a little bit of time to chill at the cabin, before we started getting ready for the day.

Today’s outing was to the Bush’s baked beans museum and visitor center, which is right next door to their bean factory. It was actually really cool, and they had lots of fun, interactive things for all the kids to play with. We had to do all the photo spots out front before we even went inside.  Plus we got a sample of the “bean of the day,” and then shopped their cute little store of funny bean-related items, and lots of cute gift store type items too.

We said the word “beans” wayyy too many times to count, and had a lot of fun there this morning, with our little beautiful bean family.

They also have the Family Bean Cafe on site, so we stopped for lunch there. It’s a cute little simple cafe, but they really did have great food, and for great prices too.

Bo sat at the kids table at lunch and took care of all the girls. But at one point, the four big girls all needed Grammy to take them potty, so addie just climbed over in Bo’s lap and he spoon-fed her black beans ☺️

After lunch it was back to the cabin for naps and rest time for all the kids. I did my nails, and read my book on the back porch, and then the girls got in the hot tub once they all woke up. Then my mama and I got to play Banangrams together.

Mom just barely beat me at the game, but got a little ahead of my picture taking and scrambled her side before I snapped the pic 🤣

The men all took the kids to the park for a while late this afternoon, and mom, Meg and I played half a game of Phase 10 before they made it back. We had a mish-mash of leftovers for an early dinner for everyone, and then got the girls all settled into the giant recliners in the theater loft with individual bowls of popcorn for a movie time, to watch The Little Rascals. And since they finished the whole movie, we rewarded them with a night-time hot tub sesh before bed.

And once we finally got all 6 kids down for bedtime, the grownups had some fun with just us. We worked on the puzzle for a long while and made great progress. And then we played a few rounds of “The Chameleon” (a game Bo brought with him), which was so laid back and easy, but also hilarious.

We have a much more full day scheduled tomorrow, but I’ve really enjoyed these two chill days we’ve had so far, exploring a little and also relaxing a lot. Vacay needs to be a good mix of both, and it’s going great so far!
