All bundled up and ready for another cold, winter day, and she’s still obsessed with her new beanie. Also, we got there at the same time as Meg & Bo and the babies today, and we were all so excited to see each other! (In order below, Kensley, Riley, Ellie.)
Looks like Emmie had some fun painting today, and napped for 2 hours 10 minutes. What a great nap!
And look at the triplets at school in their cute beanies too! All four girls are the cutest little beanie babies!
They have a whole display up on the front desk lobby with all the kids bundled up in their winter gear, and I found this little cutie pie right in the middle of it!
This sweet little girl crawled up on the couch with her Kindle, sitting sweetly watching Blippi (with mismatched slippers), smiling and quietly giggling every now and then. Ugh, it was precious. I had put some chicken and seasonings in the crockpot this morning, so I just had to cook some rice, and heat up some black beans and corn, and then we had crockpot chicken burrito bowls for dinner.
I wasn’t really in the mood for it though (pregnancy aversions are just as weird as pregnancy cravings), but I still made myself a tiny bowl and figured I’d try to eat some anyways, to see if I changed my mind once I started eating. But nope. I didn’t want it, and Emmie didn’t like it. Jeff ate his entire bowl though!
After getting Emmie to at least try a few bites to make sure she didn’t like it, I told her she didn’t have to eat it. So she was like, “OK, can I have something different? Something easy, that you don’t have to cook….. (pause to think with her chin in her hand) A P&B&J!” I thought that sounded good, so Jeff made us both a sammich, and we sat on the couch, both with our Kindles, eating our yummy homemade uncrustables.
She picked two books for us to read at bedtime, and we went through the whole routine. She did pretty good at first, but then she started in on her whole hoopla of not wanting to go to bed and not wanting to go to sleep. I stayed and talked with her for a while and tried to calm her down. But ultimately, it took Daddy coming in and rocking her for a while to get her to calm down, before she would finally settle down and actually go to sleep.
Meanwhile, I lit my current-favorite candle and made some hot tea, and sat down to read for just a few minutes, before starting this blog post.
Emmie has been quietly sleeping for about 30 minutes now, so hopefully she’s good and she’ll have a good night’s rest. We did in fact start “The 12 Dates of Christmas” last night, but we didn’t make it even an hour into it, before I fell asleep on the couch at 9:50pm. So we’re gonna try to finish it tonight, then maybe I’ll read for a few more minutes, hoping to finish up the very end of my current Kindle book.
