We had ourselves another beautiful beach day on St. George Island!
We actually had a beach day with my book club buddies, in honor of this past months’ book, “People We Meet on Vacation,” by Emily Henry. We decided to take our book club on the road, on our own mini vacation, to talk about our book out at the beach. Only three of us could come, but it was so nice to be with friends and talk about books while wading in the Gulf!
The girls loved playing in the sand and surf, and having more grown-ups around to get them to do what they wanted 🙂
Oh and of course we stopped for boiled peanuts again, and the girls picked out tiny apples at a gas station stop along the way.
I thought this was so funny, to see us basically hovering out over the open water, while crossing the giant bridge back into Eastpoint.
We wanted to go back for an early dinner at the Blue Parrot again tonight, but they were so packed we couldn’t even get to the hostess stand to check in. So we did a quick Google Maps search for “restaurants near me” (Google Maps reviews is my favorite way to find & save new restaurants to try), and we found the Family Coastal Restaurant only 10 minutes away. It was small and nice and not crowded and we had a table right away, and it was a good second choice.
I wanted a picture of these cuties back out by the water after dinner, but the sun was so bright and they kept making such funny faces, but we got a few cute ones anyways, even with crazy faces 😉
But I absolutely LOVE this one of them holding hands and looking out at the water!
We had a quick, quiet drive back home, since the girls and I all fell asleep halfway home, while Daddy stayed awake and did the driving. We got the car mostly unpacked at home (well Jeff did), and I got the girls in the bathtub and cleaned up. Poor little Emmie got some sunburn on her chest & back, so we made sure to slather her (and both of their cheeks) in our new favorite Hawaiian Tropic after-sun lima coolada lotion.
Emerson was exhausted and very easy to get to sleep. Addison on the other hand was trying to keep herself awake by watching lawn mower videos with Daddy way too late. He showered earlier, so he’s all clean and getting Addie to bed, but now it’s my turn to go shower and get cleaned up. It’s going to feel so refreshing, after so much salt, sand, sun & sunscreen today!
