Such a silly goose this morning making all sorts of silly faces, in a new birthday romper from Nana! She was also wearing new-to-her sandals from the box of hand-me-down’s.
At school today, she colored an “H,” and had a good day!
I got stuck working on an emergency process at work this afternoon, so I worked until 5:30, and Jeff left to pick up Emerson for me. I had a few minutes to myself to sit and relax before they got home, and then a little bit sat up at the counter while I worked on dinner and washed up a few dishes.
I made blue cheese chicken burgers, which are one of my favorite things I make, and remembered to use my cast iron skillet again, since I said I wanted to start using it more. And it was great for cooking up some burger patties! I also roasted a sheet of brussel sprouts, and made some tiny garlic and herb of potatoes. And this was a super good dinner!
We cuddled on the couch a little after dinner, watching some of Ratatouille, which we’ve been slowly watching little bits of over the last few days. I have actually made real ratatouille a few times in our married life, but it’s been probably four years, and so now it’s got me wanting to make it again soon!
after some cuddle times, we went back to her room to work a little bit more on the reorganization of her clothes and dressers. Well, I worked and she played, but she was still really cute company!
She told me this was a dinosaur!
While I went through a drawer of bloomers, bathing suits and a few tutus, she kept picking up random things to try on, including some bloomers that were size 3 months, that I told her were too small, so she decided we should pass those on to the triplets! I’m sure you all can guess though that those would be entirely too small for them too! She especially liked this black tutu though! And please make sure you don’t miss all of her Toy Story themed Band-Aids 😉
I also pulled down a box of brand new shoes We got from Marshalls a while back, that we’ve been waiting for her to go into. Daddy helped her try them on (he used to work in a shoe store and is really good at that kind of thing still), and they fit perfectly. These light gray little Converse are adorable on her, and I can’t wait to pick out an outfit that they’ll match with!
We read one of her new birthday books for bedtime, while she snuggled a penguin, and ate some Chex Mix for her bedtime snack.
And of course we had to do the nursery rhymes with Mother Goose before bedtime.
For the last week or so, instead of doing two or three lullabies, she’s gotten down to only wanting to do one lullaby, followed by some quiet cuddle time. But last night and tonight, she didn’t want to do any lullabies and she wanted to just have a minute of quiet cuddles, and then straight into her bed. My girl is starting to grow up on me, and of course I’m not ready for that!
while tonight’s dinner was cooking, I washed last night’s dishes. So now I don’t feel like washing anymore. I’ll just wait and do it on my lunch break tomorrow, and that’ll be good enough! For now, it’s rest – with either a book or a TV show, but I haven’t decided yet…
