Bananas and Broccoli

So last night, my blogging app wouldn’t load and photos, it was already like 9:15, and I still had to make some broccoli salad for today. So I just couldn’t manage a blog post last night. But here is yesterday’s post…

Nana switched cars with me again first thing in the morning, so Emerson got to say hi to her, although she was confused about why she was there. But then drop off went really well!

Then I got to drive Nana’s swanky, giant Chrysler 300 for the day!

I finished this audiobook right as I was pulling into the parking garage at work, and I really loved it so much! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I had a lot of things to bring to work yesterday, and I had my hands full getting into the office. I brought some wood furniture cleaner and polisher for my boss to try out, plus my purse and lunch like usual, and some banana bread that Nita made and sent for me to share with my coworkers. Which was delicious!

My lunch however was a random assortment of leftover potstickers, and a few snacks I had around the house. And I started a new library book. This is the brand new book by the same author of the audio book I finished this morning, and so I’m interested to see if I like this one as much as I liked “tea girl.”

Two years ago! Look how tiny! She’s always do her arms like this, and she looked like a tiny Supergirl!

We only got one photo from school, so here it is…

After work, I jumped right into my next audiobook from the library. I’ve been on the holds list for this one a while, and I’ve heard really good things about it.

Nana and I had switched cars in the morning, so that she could pick up Emerson from school again, since her building is literally next door to daycare. So she picked her up and took her home, and PopPop picked up the boys from our house, and they were all at their house once Jeff and I got off work too.

Nana gave Emerson this spoon to hold, but Emerson thought that was a sign of her needing to help. So she could hollering “I cook it, I cook it!” So we let her “help cook the green beans.”

We had chicken tetrazzini, corn on the cob, green beans, and Hawaiian rolls. It was all delicious! And then afterwards we had cupcakes to celebrate the boys’ 13th birthday! I can’t remember if I mentioned that or not the other day, but they turned 13 on Wednesday!

Can you please just look at this tiny tot going after that corn on the cob?!?

She was playing behind the sheer window curtains and she thought she was hilarious. And it was!

Then she found all of the toy bins behind the couch that Nana keeps for all the kids, and she had a blast going through everything. She was bringing me all sorts of random items one by one, and before I knew it I had 15 or 20 things, and my arms were loaded!

Emerson and I left around 7:30, so we could get her home for bedtime, even though it would be a little bit later than usual. The sunset right as we pulled into our road was gorgeous!

I was able to get Emerson down for bedtime pretty easily, after reading just a book and a half, and singing our lullabies, she was ready to lay in her crib. Which was good, since by this point it was almost 9:00 p.m., and I still needed to blog and make broccoli salad. But then I realized my app wasn’t working and I wasn’t going to be able to blog, so I just gave up on it, and made the broccoli salad instead. This was the first time I had made it, so I borrowed a recipe from my boss at work, and then added a few extra things I had seen in other broccoli salad recipes or even had before, and it turned out delicious!

This was before I poured the dressing over the salad, and it looks so pretty in colorful. Then once I poured the dressing over, it tasted so delicious! We are having a Sunday school cookout dinner tonight, and doing it potluck style. So I’m bringing broccoli salad to go with the burgers and dogs and everything else.

Emerson just woke up from her nap now (on Saturday), So her and I are going to hang out a little bit by ourselves. Ryan and Gabe spent the night with Jeff’s parents last night, and they’ve been with them all today as well. Jeff went to go pick them up now, and then we will all go to the cookout/pool party together in just a few hours.

Glad I was able to get caught up on yesterday’s blog post. Hopefully I will be able to write another one later tonight!
