Emerson specifically requested to watch herself as she brushed her teeth this morning, so I had to set her up on the counter top while she brushed away. She’s the silliest!
And as usual, she’s always so concerned about everything going on around us, and was pointing at a man going into the building across the street.
I love her in these little tshirts though! They just look so much more grown-up than a onesie (even though I still love a onesie), and plus, they’re so cute and so soft!
Well, I flew through that last audio book (partly because it was relatively short and partly because I listened to it on 1.5x speed), so I grabbed another one to start today. Our local Leon County Library has stocked up on digital books since all the shut-downs, and they’re featuring a special #HarryPotterAtHome for the month of April, which apparently TONS of other libraries (county & school) are doing all across the country.
They have the audio or e-book in literally 30 different languages, and I don’t think there’s a wait-time on any of them, because I think they’re just “available” all month long! No wait! Of course I’ve read the first book about three times already, but I’ve never listened to the audio book. This version is narrated by Jim Dale, and I’ve heard SO MANY good things about how much people love his HP narrations. So I’m excited about this! Who else wants to read or listen with me in the next couple of weeks?
Emmie did great at school today, even if she got a little scared of the lawn crew when they showed up today. (Read the note from her teacher on the daily report below.)
For dinner tonight, I knew I had some thin, boneless pork chops that I wanted to make (along with some tiny little potatoes), but wasn’t sure how I wanted to make them. So I searched on my favorite recipe/food blog, and found the perfect recipe for one-pan ranch pork chops & veggies. Perfect! I added carrots (since I didn’t have green beans like the recipe said), plus sliced onion (I add onion and/or garlic to almost everything I cook), and roasted it all in my Grandmother’s hand-me-down Pampered Chef stoneware casserole dish. (Emerson was having sliced apples and cereal at the counter while I was chopping.)
And since I had the oven on already, I threw a pan of crescent rolls in there to bake towards the end of the cooking time. It ended up taking a lot longer for the veggies to cook completely and get soft, but once they were done, it was delicious!
And the weather outside was absolutely perfect, so of course we wanted eat dinner on the back patio. And it was great! It was supposed to actually be bath night for Emerson, but we opted to stay outside and go for a backyard nature walk, rather than going back inside. And it was lovely!
After seeing @everydayreading rave about & recommend this book last month, it sounded right up my alley. I put it on hold at the library and picked it up just a day or two before everything shut down, so my loan got extended for like, 2 months. I finally started reading it last week, and *flew* through it. I loved it! I’ve learned that I don’t so much like a cheesy, chick lit story, but I do love an epic romance, especially when it’s historical fiction. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is the nest we saw the brand new tiny baby birds last weekend, but they’re all gone already now. I hope they flew away, and nothing happened to them! The other nest still has the little blue speckled robin’s eggs in it.
She was being such a goofball, eating more cereal and just being silly. She was hiding her eyes behind her elbow, so Daddy raised up her other arm, so it looks like she was dabbing. And he thought it was just so hilarious 🙂
There was very minimal dishes tonight, due to the great one-pan meal I cooked. So washing the dishes was quick and easy. Since I finished up my library book last night, I’m going to go pick one off my own library shelves that I own but haven’t read yet, and maybe read for a little bit and then watch a little bit of TV with the hubby, like usual.
