Well, today was finally the day I had to go back to the office full-time, after working from home for four months. This was all the stuff I had to take with me, so my coworker met me at our loading dock with a cart, and then wheeled it to my office while I parked the car and walked inside.
And of course Emerson got Nana to take her to the park, very first thing this morning! It was a really chilly, so she got all bundled up in jeans and a long-sleeve t-shirt, and a blanket! She looks super cozy!
After the park, they spent a lot of time exploring our own backyard, with all the trees and bushes and banana plants and oranges. This little jacket was one of the things in our recent windfall of hand-me-downs, and Emerson picked it out herself to wear today, as if it was 35 degrees, rather than 65 degrees 🙂
After heating half of the sausage & egg breakfast scramble bowl Nana brought this morning, she still ate a turkey sandwich and cheetos for lunch. All that outside playtime made her super hungry!
And I’m back to eating leftover lunches at my desk while I read. It’s not as cozy as Netflix on the couch with hubby, or putting Emmie down for naptime, but at least I’ll get back to reading a lot more!
After Emerson’s nap, she requested to go back to the park again, and of course Nana said yes.
Nana also got tons of great video today of our silly girl, so I mashed them all up together for a little compilation. Look how fun & sweet!
Jeff went to help one of his coworkers set up a new computer tonight. I don’t like trying to cook dinner on night’s his not at the house with me to help take care of Emerson, so I went through the Chick-fil-A drive through on the way home for dinner for Emerson and me. I went to the brand new one on West Tennessee Street (the one that’s half a block from the “old” one), and check out this pick-up window spot! You know how nowadays there’s always an employee standing outside the window to hand the food, well this new place has an entire door!
We took our “Chicka-flay” dinner outside for a little Mommy-Daughter picnic. The weather was still so nice and windy, and we had such a great evening! She was in the best little mood, being super sweet and lovey and goofy. We stayed out in the front & back yard for over an hour, running around and playing and hugging.
She’s also very into this phone today. nana said she kept tucking it into the waistband of her jeans, since she didn’t have a pocket. And apparently she kept it with her almost the entire day. She had TONS of phone calls to make. Here are a few of them…
Oh, and she raised her phone like this and said, “Say cheeeeeeeese Mommy! I’m taking a picture with my phone.”
With all my Kindle reading lately, I decided after seven years of the same cover, I wanted a new one. My Kindle is also seven years old actually! Jeff bought it for me as my wedding gift when we got married in 2013, and it’s still kicking! But I did want a new cover. I found this on on Amazon over the weekend, and I love it! It also came with the little stylus, cleaning cloth, and a sheet of weird little stickers, with a foreign language on it, that I can’t even tell what it is!
We went back to her room to start getting ready for bed, but she wanted to show me some of the new foods that Nana brought her today. So she made me this delicious sandwich, with a banana and a pickle on the side. She told me I had to eat all my dinner before I could have the “bassert” she was baking.
Turns out, the “bassert” was “salad eggs cookies.” Which really didn’t sound all that appetizing, but I cleaned my bowl nonetheless 😉
We read Rapunzel’s story in the princess book from Miss Julia, and an older book Aunt Meggie gave us when Emmie was born. She was so cute all cuddled up and reading with me.
She was extremely good at bedtime, and we had the best night time routine tonight. She was very sweet, and didn’t put up any sort of a fuss tonight. We did our usual routine, and I was already walking out of her bedroom, before 8pm! Then I had some issues getting all of the photos in the blog (my website doesn’t like the kind of photos from Nana’s iPhone, and it causes a whole hoopla), but now I’ve finally got it all sorted out, a million years later. Time to rest and relax now!
