Baby Bowties

My precious girls, ready to face another Monday, even if we were all still tired and wishing we could stay home.

Addie was really into climbing this little slide today apparently.

Jeff was out mowing the yard again, so the girls and I had a little pasta night together. I made “spaghetti” with meat sauce, but I used these tiny little baby bowties, which were really cute and fun to eat. And really the perfect size for the girls. I started out giving them both just butter noodles (and I saved some for Emmie’s lunch tomorrow), but then I gave Addie one noodle from my bowl, and she loved it and kept reaching/pointing at my bowl wanting more. I gave her just a few noodles at a time, but I ended up scooping out about half my bowl, and having to go back for seconds for us to share.

We all went out to watch Jeff for a while, but once we got Addie situated in her little bouncy seat watching her favorite tv show, Emmie was so worried about him, and kept saying, “I hope Daddy’s doing okay out there.” So we went back out so she could wave him down and ask him if he was okay, and then she got him some fresh ice water. She’s just got the most tender, caring little heart.

We had a few more minutes to hang out, and you can see they were both getting a little wild…

And then somehow, it turned into a ballet recital for a bit too.

Addie was exhausted, so it was super easy to rock her to sleep, and then lay her down in her crib for the night. Emmie and I settled down in her room for a picture book first, followed by Matilda (which we finally finished, after about a month), and then her daily devotional book.

I already put away the leftovers earlier (but saved a bowl of pasta for Jeff now that he’s inside and cleaned up so he can finally eat), but I still have a load of dishes to wash before settling down for the night.
