After 9 days off school for Emerson, and 5 days of work & school for the rest of us, it was time to go back after our long Thanksgiving break. We were sluggish this morning for sure, but both girls did great at their respective drop-off’s!
We got a few fun pictures of Addie from her teachers today.
After work, I baked a Rana brand lasagna we got at Aldi the other day, put together a quick Caesar salad, and made some garlic breadsticks, and then dinner was ready! The salad & bread were good, but the lasagna was just okay, nothing impressive, and none of us loved it. Probably won’t be buying that brand again…
I taught Emerson her gymnastics class after dinner (I was just coming up with all sorts of random moves & stretches and such), with Addison just wandering around doing her own thing, and Jeff working on the puzzle.
Had ourselves a quick picnic with (plastic) food, and a couple bags of rice & instant potatoes Addie drug out of the pantry.
Then I fed each of them a few bites of the pumpkin roll we got at Aldi the other day, for their dessert.
Jeff took over with Addison and got her changed for bed, and then was rocking her to sleep while she drank some milk. Emerson came over to the table while I worked on the puzzle, and she literally put two pieces into place in like, 30 seconds. Then Emmie and I went to do her bedtime routine, and she was so sweet and sleepy, after we stayed up a little later than usual, on her first day back to school.
I went back to the puzzle for about 15-20 minutes and got quite a bit more finished. I think I’ll go back and look for those last few pieces to finish up those lower areas, before finally sitting down for the night.
I washed up a bunch of dishes while the lasagna was baking earlier, and then rinsed off the few things from dinner, so the stuff that’s left can just wait until tomorrow.
