Look at the four precious baby girls! Emerson is just the best big cousin helper, and takes her job very seriously in the mornings. She just loves them so dang much!
Megan dressed all her babies in some overalls today, and goodness gracious they’re adorable! And Riley here (first photo), is wearing overalls that used to be Megan’s from when she was a toddler! Too stinking cute! (Ellie in red stripes, Kensley with the tiny flowers.)
I love this photo, where you can see all the sweet hand-holding happening. Precious!!
Jeff felt like going out to pick-up breakfast for us from Chick-fil-A today, and I had no objections to that idea! I love pretty much everything on their menu’s (both breakfast and lunch/dinner), so I always have a hard time deciding what to eat, but this chicken burrito really hit the spot today!
On my mid-morning break, I took a few minutes to slice up some onions & peppers, and threw all this in for some Crock-Pot chicken fajitas for dinner.
And leftover chicken curry and rice for lunch was still super delicious.
Looks like Emmie had a good day at school today, and took a pretty decent nap too, which always helps.
Pretzel burrowed himself down in a giant pile of pillows and blankets on the couch today. I think him most of all has liked having us WFH for so many months on end.
I took a short afternoon break today (things were crazy, but I really needed to disconnect for a bit), while reading and having a snack. I got a scoop of peanut butter, a small handful of chocolate chips, and melted it in the microwave for just 20 seconds, and it was the most delicious dip for my apple.
A friend from church (and one of my Sunday school teachers’ wives) met me at school when I picked up Emerson today, to pass off this giant basket of snacks, coloring books, and gift cards, collected from our Sunday school class. Super sweet! And the gifts in her floor are both from her old teacher Miss Q, to take to the hospital with us.
Jeff’s parent’s came over to have dinner with us, and help us do some chores and such around the house to get ready for our trip. I just removed the chicken and shredded it with forks, and left the peppers & onions in the crock-pot to add on separately. We added cheese, salsa, sour cream, avocado, lime and tomatoes, on tiny little taco shells, and it was so good!
Jeff worked outside fixing one our motion detector lights, and installing a new security camera that shows the front door/front porch. I relinquished control (which was honestly a little difficult for me because of my personality), and gave Emmie’s packing list for Jax to Nana, and she packed up all of Emerson’s stuff for me, while I folded and packed up all of my stuff, and a little bit of Jeff’s (but he’s mostly on his own for that).
We also did a couple of FaceTime calls with some of Nana’s family, and Emmie wanted to show them all sorts of things. She wanted to show Aunt Elaine the apple she was eating (but she made Nana bite of the parts that were brown after sitting out for a while), and she wanted to show Grandma her mermaid, so she literally climbed up into the basket full of stuffed animals to look for it.
After getting everything finished for Emmie (except for the last minute stuff), we got her jammies on, and then she jumped around for a while, trying to burn off some crazy energy. And then Nana read Emmie’s new heart surgery book before bedtime, and then it was my turn for cuddles and lullabies and bedtime prayers.
We’re doing really good on our to-do-before-Jax list, and we’re about halfway packed up now, so I’m feeling pretty good about things. Nana brought some chocolate cake over earlier that we never got around to sharing for dessert, so I’m going to go cut myself a slice, and sit down to rest and relax with Netflix before bedtime!
