Another Ear Infection

I just did drop-off for one kid this morning, but she did great on her own. I actually just dropped her off in the lobby, and the director walked her back to her classroom for me, because I still had Addison in the car waiting.

And then I took Addison to the doctor’s office to get checked out for all the things. Turns out, poor girl has another ear infection (her third in about 3-ish months), but at least we know this isn’t contagious, and she gets meds for that, and we don’t have to quarantine, and things can continue as usual now…

She didn’t have her bottle before we left, but she did good drinking it in the room while we waited for our favorite pediatrician.

I didn’t have breakfast or coffee before taking the girls, so I was starving by the time we got back. Jeff took his morning break so I could make myself a huge brunch while he held the baby girl.

Addie played around for a little while, but she was exhausted, so I made her another bottle, and after she finished, she fell asleep immediately. I knew she wouldn’t wanna sleep flat in her bed with her earache, so I just turned on Survivor, and held her for the whole nap!

She slept about an hour and a half, then I put her in here long enough to get myself ready, and wait for Jeff’s lunch break, then we all made a quick run to CVS to pick up her antibiotics. We had lunch at home once we got back, and then my girl was ready for another bottle and another nap.

Poor girl was just so tired and pooped out today. I was glad I decided to keep her home today, just so she could get good naps and rest at home with Mommy.

Love getting pics of my girl playing with her friends!

Jeff got off work just a little bit early today, so he could take care of Addison while I ran back out to pick up Emerson from school. We also made a little trip into Trader Joe’s, just for fun.

Once we got home, Jeff took care of the girls (I think they were watching “Despicable Me”) and I made this yummy and beautiful frittata, with crescent rolls and diced watermelon on the side.

Emmie REALLY loved the watermelon tonight. So after eating her dinner plate, she pulled the container over in front of her and said, “I can eat as much as I want, Mommy?” I was like, “Of course girl, you go for it!” And she just sat there for like 10 minutes, casually eating watermelon and chatting with me like such a big girl. It was very precious.

We had some cuddle times on the couch after dinner (she thought she wanted to share my raspberry dark chocolate bar from TJ’s, but she didn’t really like it), watching her current fave, “Matilda,” for about the 50th time. We put on jammies and she picked a bedtime book, and told me she was gonna read it to me tonight, but she didn’t get very far with that idea…

Emmie’s bedtime went easily, but Addie doesn’t want us to lay her down in her bed. Jeff first got her to sleep, then switched her over to me for a while. I tried to lay her down, but she cried and got upset, and I couldn’t get her calm again. So I picked her up and brought her back to Jeff to hold her for a while again. We’ll see how she’s doing, and maybe try again soon.

She was tired and a little pitiful today, but she drank her bottles pretty decently, napped well (on Mommy), and her fever stayed down most of the day. So now we’re just really praying she sleeps well overnight, in her own bed.
