Today was the missions parade at church, and Emerson was representing Turkey, which I wrote about a lot yesterday. Although most Turkish kids wear the same things that American kids wear, we decided to add a little scarf covering around her head like some of the grown-ups wear, for a bit more fun for her.
Emmie came to church early with me for worship team rehearsal at 8am (she just loves coming early with me), and Jeff brought Addie later when it was time for church to start. And she looked so cute with her flippy blonde hair and her pumpkin dress.
We had a quick lunch at Zaxby’s after church, and luckily I had another $5 off $20 coupon, so we got a great deal for all four of us. And coincidentally, our next door neighbors were heading in right as we were, so we sat near them and were able to chit-chat a bit (but honestly, the music was way too loud in there).
After lunch, we drove out to the airport to drop Jeff off. He’s in Nashville this week, to speak at a conference for tech in banking, which is what he does at his State job every day. My little blue-eyed girlies thought it was cool to drop him off, but sad to actually let him leave.
Addie and I laid down for a nap together when we got back home, and slept for about 2.5 hours. Her and I both really needed it! I actually feel like I’m right on the verge of getting a cold or something, so really did need the rest. We got ourselves up and moving, and I made a cup of hot tea, and we headed back to church for the last Connect Group dinner & meeting of the semester.
And afterwards, the triplets passed down a hand-me-down tricycle to Addie, and allll the girls were very excited about. Addie hadn’t ever ridden a bike before, but Uncle Bo helped her ride from their van to my car, and of course all 4 girls ran along beside them, cheering her on.
We picked up a small Walmart grocery order on our way home, then we did all the bedtime things – jammies, snacks, Bluey, books, prayers & lullabies. It was easy to get Emmie down, but Addie needed extra time because she “wasn’t sleepy.” But I did eventually get her to sleep and in her own bed too.
Praying now that both girls sleep really well, and that we all wake up ready to take on the week with just us girlies!
