This sweet little Addison Laurel turned 4 years old today! She was very cute in her new lemon dress, and her old favorite cardigan, and just oh-so-happy to be the birthday girl.
This morning, Addison was like, “Can I tell my friends it’s my birthday today?” And since she’s been asking that for a few days, I was finally able to tell her YES! So she was just talking about telling her friends about her birthday, and her party, and she said, “I had a great time at my Grammy’s house for my party. She’s so beautiful. And she makes me laugh.” So sweet!
And she got to wear a birthday princess crown at school!
Jeff’s parents were out of town this past weekend (visiting his younger brother for his long-awaited college graduation), so they missed out on Addison’s birthday party. So tonight, we met up at Outback for a joint dinner to celebrate Addie’s birthday, and Jeff’s birthday, which is in two days on Wednesday. We hadn’t been there in years, but it was really yummy
Mmmm IĀ love me a good bleu cheese wedge salad!
And I got my little sirloin steak topped with roasted garlic butter.
They came to the table to sing to both Jeff and Addie, and although Jeff enjoyed it and was clapping along, Addie wasn’t a huge fan, and was just tucked up next to Nana watching her phone.
I ordered this salted caramel cookie skillet to share with Nana, and it was perfectly salty and caramel-ly and just SO very good.
Emmie went on a little weed-picking adventure in our front yard when we got home, and found these weird, super-cool twirly flower weeds. Never seen anything like these before, but she picked me a tiny bouquet, which I put in a glass jar in my kitchen window sill.
Addison chose for Emerson to read her the robot book again for bedtime tonight, which was so cute and sweet.
Unfortunately, my poor Addie Pie ended up getting a fever on her birthday, so she wasn’t feeling so great tonight. Sad little nugget š So she’ll have to stay home from school tomorrow, and her 4-year-old check-up is already scheduled for Wednesday, but hopefully she’ll be OK and get over her little sickness quickly. Say a prayer for the birthday girl tonight!
