First Day of School 2026!

Back to school and excited for their first year together at Gilchrist!! Ready for Kindergarten for Addison, and 4th grade for Emerson!

Love these cute matching t-shirts, and that both girls wanted to wear their new tennis shoes today.

The morning actually ended up being super chaotic, with car trouble for Jeff and Addie (who left first in his car), so we ended up all in one car after having to go rescue them from a gas station. So we dropped Emmie off at school first…

And then we had an impromptu doctor’s visit for Addie who said her ear was hurting really badly, and turns out she has an ear infection again. Or at least, a swimmers’ ear infection, if that’s different than a “regular” one or not, I don’t really know… But then we raced Addie back to school (with the delayed 9am start on the first day for kinder’s), and got her there at 9:06am, just slightly “late.”

Then I took Jeff by the car parts store, and then we picked up his car and he limped it back home. He was able to repair it though, and then eventually him and I both made it to work, driving our own respective cars, and his car was fine the rest of the day. So all of that on top of the normal first day of school chaos and jitters, was just a lot! But praise the Lord, we made it!

 

 

 

 

We had a little back to school bash at church tonight for the kiddos, with promotion to the higher classes for some of them, and free shaved ice’s for all of them! We also loved getting to see the trips on their first day of their new school as well!

And that’s all I’ve got for today… heading off to go work on a puzzle for a little bit.
