Emmie is never more than a few steps from either Mommy or Daddy, no matter where we are. Even in the bathroom š And if you look closely, her baby is sittingĀ inĀ her potty, because the baby needed to go potty.
She was very excited to go to church this morning, and was running down the sidewalk. But of course she also had to run through the rocks, which are her favorite.
After church, we went to lunch with Grammy, Papa & Grandmommie. Emerson asked for a cheeseburger (no one was surprised), so we chose to go to Dairy Queen.
And then since we had to be back at church again at 4pm this afternoon, we just went to Grammy’s new house to hang for a while. I wanted to get a picture of her fancy outfit, and she delivered with some fancy poses!
And then she was off again like lightning!
She started out wanting Grandmommie to read to her for nap time and thought she was going to do lullabies too. But then she actually decided she wanted Mommy, and I was so surprised, but I loved getting to rock her to sleep.
Jeff ended up napping in the guest room in the back, and I got some good chat-time with Grandmommie and my parents. I also had a nice, warm cup of decaf coffee with peppermint bark creamer (yum!), in this cute mug. It says “Christmas is the melody that rings in every heart.” Which I just thought was perfect, considering how much I love music and singing and Christmas and Singing Christmas Tree rehearsal today. (Also, the little music note thing in the middle is weird and random, but cute.)
And then it was time for another Singing Christmas Tree rehearsal up in the giant tree! Also, IĀ loveĀ the lighting in the sanctuary in the afternoons, when the sun shines through the stained glass windows and casts colored shadows around the room. So beautiful!
While we were at church singing away, Papa & Grandmommie took Emerson down to the lake to see the water, and watch the deer come get a drink. They did see a couple of deer pretty close, and Emmie thought it was so cool to see them drinking.
After rehearsal, we came back to Grammy’s house for dinner. They hosted their Sunday school class Christmas dinner last night, and we got to eat the leftover ham & gooey potatoes for dinner tonight. While we were heating things up in the microwave, Emmie spotted Mary & Joseph & the donkey up on top of the microwave!
This little girl went to town on tiny ham sammiches tonight that Papa made her!
And then she had a super quick bath time before we had to head home for bed time.
She was a little bit wired up, but we got her calmed down pretty easily actually. But then she surprised us, and she wanted Daddy to put her to bed instead of Mommy. Luckily though, it went well, and Jeff was able to put her to sleep after her normal prayers and lullabies.
We’re exhausted now after a long day, so it looks like we’re heading to watch a Christmas movie on Disney+ and drink hot tea in bed.
