Welp. Emerson finally had her very first pee-pee accident this morning. We had already gotten her dressed for the day and she was sitting on the kitchen counter while I brushed her hair and put lotion on her face, she looked up at me and kind of whined, “Mommyyyy,” and then peed on the kitchen counter… She was sad and pitiful, but I got her cleaned up and changed her outfit (and e had a little chat to remind her that all she has to do is tell me when she needs to go, and we can rush to the potty), and then she was fine & happy again!
Emmie then had a good day at school with all her little friends, and used the potty like a big girl all day!
Back at home, I had a decent day of work, and used my breaks to shuck some more corn, and prep the main dish for tonight’s dinner.
I usually don’t like sharing photos of raw meat (because gross), but I just wanted to share how easy this was. You just use string cheese to stuff inside brats, then cover in marinara sauce, and bake at 400 degrees for 45 minutes. Super easy, really flavorful, and just something yummy and unique.
When we got back home after picking Emerson up, she set herself up on the couch with her blanket, llama, and some chocolate-covered almonds, and asked Daddy to put on the Buddy the Elf movie.
While the brats & corn on the cob baked in the oven, I made a loaf of zucchini nut bread (thanks for the pecans, Mama!), and then threw that in the oven once our dinner was done.
I know the brats in sauce doesn’t look like much up there (actually, it just looks like a giant mess you don’t wanna have to deal with), but it was pretty good, and even Emerson ate it really well! I cut up half of one for her, and she ate every bite of it!
After dinner, we were outside on the back patio, and all out of sudden, Emerson came over and said, “Mommy, feel me, I’m wet.” And she had peed in her pants again… So she had her very first accident this morning, followed by her second-ever accident this evening. Reallyyyy hoping this will somehow finally jump start her at-home potty situation, and she’ll remember how much she hated feeling wet, and maybe start peeing in the potty at home…
We played in the tent for a while after getting her changed (never got around to taking it down this past weekend, obvs), and she had a little pack of Nutter Butter cookies for dessert.
So a week or two ago, Emerson told me a that they counted all the way to 100 at school while doing exercises, which sounded cute. And then we stumbled upon this video tonight and she was singing along and doing all the moves, and I realized it must be the same song she told me about last week. it was so cute!
When we came back inside, the bread was done and it smelled soooo good! I let it cool for a bit, then sliced it up. Emerson wanted some for her bedtime snack, so I sat in the floor with her, picking the nuts out of her piece because she didn’t like the pecans, but she loved the bread other than that!
Tater was cute and sweet at bedtime, and just as chatty as ever. She looked over and saw the blanket with the hot air balloon print on it, and so she started talking all about it, and I told her how they work, and she thought it was really cool. She was like, “If we see it, we better go on it. If we see it, we have to go in it, and that little blue one.” So I told her that maybe one day when she grows up, we could maybe see about that…
After getting her down, Jeff and I both had a piece of the bread too, and it was soooo good. I might have grated the knuckle on my pointer finger while grating the zucchini, but this bread is delish! And plus, it’s vegetables, so it’s healthy! So I’m going to have healthy vegetables for breakfast tomorrow 😉
