Yet Another Sick Day

Can you even believe all the sass on this little girl?! She’s too much. But she’s so stinking adorable, right? And I love this rainbow romper.

Jeff did Emerson’s drop-off, and said things went great for her today.

Meanwhile, I took Addison to the doctor, because her fever from last week returned again late yesterday afternoon. I got a call from daycare at literally 4:58pm, saying she had a fever. So we figured it was just another viral thing, but I took her to the doctor today, just in case, but they confirmed our suspicions, so we just have to wait it out.

But then her and I had a good day together! Well, really just a good morning, because she slept the entire afternoon… She calmly watched the first 20-ish minutes of Moana, either standing in front of the tv, or cuddled up right in front of me while I read my Kindle book. (I actually started this one yesterday, got about 50% in, and then ended up finishing it today while she napped. It was SO good. I’m obsessed with Colleen Hoover right now.)

After Addie’s lunch, it only took a few short minutes to rock her to sleep, and then she was down for the count. She fell asleep in my arms just a few minutes after 12 noon, I laid her in her crib around 12:15, and girlfriend didn’t wake up until 4:20pm! During that time, Jeff and I had lunch and watched a little bit of “Shang-Chi” during his lunch break, then I washed dishes, and worked on my puzzle, but it was too hard, so I gave up and read instead, cuddled up with Pretzel on the couch and finished my Kindle book like I mentioned earlier.

Once Addison finally woke up from her super long nap, I picked up Emerson just a little bit early from after school care. We took the long way home to return some library books, and then got stuck in terrible traffic on Tennessee Street, when a car broke down at Ocala, and backed up that entire lane foreverrrr…

But we finally made it home, and then Emerson was quick to offer to help me cook breakfast for dinner – pancakes, eggs & bacon. She is the sweetest little helper, and she really did a great job tonight.

In the middle of cooking dinner, she was like, “Hey, this is something I could do to earn money for my missions Buddy Barrel.” I thought that was the sweetest thing ever, and of course I gave her a big handful of change after dinner to add to her barrel. Then when I asked her to help me tidy up the living room, she said, “For more money for my barrel?” So I gave her another quarter 😉

Jeff took care of Addie, while Emmie and I did her bedtime routine. Since we finished Matilda last night, we started on some Amelia Bedelia books that she got for her birthday. (Can’t remember who bought her these, though?) They’re not the same Amelia Bedelia I grew up with, but it was really cute, and she liked it.

I already washed more dishes tonight after dinner, from all our dinner stuff, so now there’s nothing to do but sit down and rest!
