With My Whole Heart

Tater Tot & Nana started out the day with pigtails and selfies, and then spent an hour or tow outside in the dreary weather, and then camped out in the carport once the rain started.

This goofball wanted to keep on her jammies on, but with mix-matched socks and tennis shoes, and goodness she looks so cute and silly!

I don’t know exactly what she was doing here, but I know she wasn’t really sleeping 🙂

At lunch time, Emmie had a bit of a meltdown (I think she was just wayyy too tired after a big, fun morning), and then she got very attached to Daddy after that. She helped him make her turkey sandwich, and wanted him to sit by her, and then also wanted him to read the books and do the lullabies and put her down for nap time.

But since she wanted him to put her down, that gave me 20 whole minutes of my lunch break to read for myself!

This sleepy baby napped for two hours and forty minutes today. Which is just insane for her, especially lately! And she only woke up then because Nana opened the door to her room, because it was like, 3:45pm already, and we didn’t want her to sleep so late that she wouldn’t’ sleep tonight! Nana said she was still groggy and sleepy for a while after waking up, and needed to just chill with her Kindle cuddled up on the couch.

When I got off at 5pm, I walked down the hallway to Emerson’s room, and she got so excited to see my sloth socks on my cold toes, she flopped down on the floor to hug my socks! Haha, so funny! 🙂

After we walked Nana out and watched her leave, we stayed outside for a little while, just sitting on the brick wall together, talking about birds and cars and grass and our neighbors, and she was just so sweet and glad that I wasn’t working anymore.

Then our sweet Sunday school teachers got us our favorite deep dish pizza from Munchie’s! They ordered it and delivered it, and chatted with us for a few minutes. It was so good to see their faces in person, and chat for a few minutes. Thank you so much, Sean & Angie! It was delicious!

This thing was filled to the brim with all the meats. It was so dense and heavy and cheesy, I could only eat 1 1/2 pieces, but those pieces were soooo good.

Little bitty girl had a bath after dinner, and played for so long all of her fingers and toes were pruny by the time she finally got out. We picked out some clean, fresh jammies, changed the bandage on her drainage hole site (which her whole surgery site is looking amazing actually), and then started the bedtime routine.

She wanted Daddy to read the Rey book again, which she’s just very into right now. She also wanted Daddy to do lullabies again, so she gave me some sweet hugs, and then kicked me out.

I sat and read for about 10 minutes, but then she called me back in because she wanted to hold me for just one quiet minute. I picked her up out of Daddy’s lap, she settled in with me, and she said in the sweetest little voice you ever heard, “I love you with my whole heart.”

And I almost cried it was so sweet. That’s actually what I say to her all the time, but this was the first time she ever said it to me. And with all that she’s gone through with that little heart this past month, it’s just almost too much to think about. But I surely do love that little girl with my whole heart, and I know she loves me with her whole heart too!
