We did it! We finally made it to Christmas break. After a week of parties, gifts for friends, gifts for teachers, gifts for coworkers, food for work parties, “trinkets” for school stockings, two totally different dress-up week schedules for the two different schools, cooking dinner three times, church one night, packing lunches for me and Addie every day, and a partridge in a pear tree… But we’re here, and I’m off the entire week of Christmas, so hopefully we can have a nice, slow, holiday week together next week.

Today was our annual father-daughter-daughter lunch at Chicken Salad Chick, like we do every year around this time. We usually go to the one on the Parkway by Best Buy, but both of them had the day off, and had some other stuff going on, so we met up at the Market Street location. Good food, good conversations, and a fun winter wonderland scene set up at the place next door, perfect for our picture after we finished eating! (I also gave Meg her birthday present today, a mere 17 days late 😉 )

Grammy picked up the girls from school, and they did a quick shopping trip at Dollar Tree, searching out the 25 cent clearance items, for Grammy to stock up on for next years’ Operation Christmas Child boxes. I met them there and then we headed home. We scrounged up random dinner for everyone, from leftovers, to snack plates, to cereal, and everyone had something different, and I didn’t have to cook. Praise the Lord for that!
Thankfully, we don’t have too much on the agenda for this weekend, other than our typical chores around the house, and some stuff to start getting ready for Christmas. But not too many errands or places to go, so that should keep us from running all over town like we did last week.
