I took not one single photo today, which is literally the weirdest. But Emmie went back to school, and Addie went with Nana, and Jeff went to jury duty,d got dismissed around noon. I actually had a very cliched Monday, with about five to seven random mostly-minor inconveniences, like rain and a broken umbrella and needing gas in the car. (One not-so-minor one was a missing debit card; luckily there were no fraud/weird charges, but I still had to cancel and order a new one. All of which is bad timing for the cashless Jax zoo field trip I’m chaperoning with Emmie tomorrow, and I don’t use credit cards anymore…)
Anyways, the good news is that all of that stuff truly is minor, and I made it through the day. And Pennie is doing better! Jeff was able to pick her up tonight and bring her home. She’s on meds for a while, and she can’t go out to play unsupervised (lest she eat something to make her sick), so we have to walk her for potty breaks. While I cleaned up dinner tonight, Jeff and the girls took her for a walk, and they were all so happy to be out and about, and happy to have her home!

Turns out, she probably had something called HGE, which when treated with meds and IV fluids, can be recovered from. But if not, it can actually turn fatal due to the severe dehydration. Honestly, I was a little concerned she wouldn’t make it, and we’d have to deal with losing another doggie again so soon, just two years after Pretzel died. Mostly I was concerned for Emmie’s sake, but luckily, she’s fine, and should continue to be totally fine.

I’m trying to get to bed a little earlier than usual tonight, because Emerson and I have to be up before the crack of dawn tomorrow, and report to Gilchrist by 6am for our field trip! I mentioned it earlier in the post, but we’re taking a day trip with the rest of the third graders, to the Jacksonville Zoo! We’ve gotta pack lunches and waters, and some books for the bus ride (most of which we’ve done already), and we’ll be gone from 6am through 6pm, and we’ll for sure be exhausted by the time we get back to school tomorrow night!
