We were running around like crazy chickens with our heads cut off this morning, so our sister pic was taken in the car on the way to Nana’s house.
The girls had another great day with Nana, and Addison even took a nap today, for two and a half to three hours. Jeff and I got off work a tiny bit early, so that we could head up to NFC to get our picture ID badges made, which is how they do pick-up for the kids. We did that super quickly, and then we went to Echalee for Taco Tuesday, for the crunchy tacos which were only $1.50 tonight. (Jeff’s parents actually went with us to NFC & dinner too.) And these crunchy chicken tacos were soooo good!
Then we went back to NFC for Addison’s VPK new student orientation! (I explained on this post last week about switching schools.) We got to meet her teacher, and check out her classroom, and see her little seat at the tiny table. The teacher came over at one point asking does she go by Addie or Addison, and we said either. So then she asked Addie what name she wanted to be called, and she responded “Addison,” and she said, “Well does she want to learn to spell Addie or Addison?” And so then Addie was like “I know how to spell my name!” And proceeded to show off for her new teacher, who was very impressed with her 🙂
There were some cute high school cheerleaders by this sign that would have been so cute in the photo, but Addie was having one of her shy moments, and it took like five minutes of coaxing and gradually moving her closer and closer, and one pic with big sis, until she finally relented and let me take her picture here with this banner.
Since we were able to eat an early dinner, and go through orientation quickly, we were able to make it back home at a good time. So the girls had lots of time to play in their fort they made on Addie’s bed, and I had some time to read, and finished up another book.
There were some tears again tonight when the fort fell down and attitudes exploded, but Emmie snuggled up to me to read and calm down and she was fine. We watched one episode of Bluey and then went back to the bedroom to read bedtime books and settle down.
There was crazy thunder and lightning and a rainstorm right as we were trying to get the girls to sleep. It didn’t bother Addie, and she fell right to sleep. But it was scaring Emmie, so she needed extra snuggles, but eventually she fell asleep too. They’re actually both asleep together in our bed, so we’ll have to carry them to their rooms later, when we’re ready to go to bed ourselves…
