Today was the Veteran’s Day Parade at Gilchrist, so Emerson picked out matching red, white & blue dresses for both girls to wear.
Emerson was very excited to have PopPop (my father-in-law) join her for the special Veteran’s Day parade, and get to walk him around her school. A friend saw them together and stopped them to take a picture and sent it to me at work.
I was just loving the sky at work and school today, and coincidentally took a picture at both schools, after picking up each girl.
We had breakfast for dinner, but the easy way… frozen waffles, microwave bacon, canned fruit, and cottage cheese. The only thing I actually cooked was the scrambled eggs, but this was easy and delicious and Emerson cleaned her plate, and Addison ate pretty well herself.
THe girls had a bath after dinner, and then we watched a Bluey episode or two, followed by a quick rug-cleaning video on YouTube. Emmie read Addie a book in bed, and then we went on with the rest of their bedtime routine.
Oh but first, we cleaned out Emmie’s school folder from all her work the last few weeks, and she was particularly very proud of her skeleton and her haunted house. And I have to admit, the write-up of her haunted house is pretty good and also quite funny. I don’t know if she came up with the “Good bones!” line herself or not, but that’s super clever.
I have about 10 minutes left of my current audio book, so I’m going to wash dishes for only as long as it takes me to finish that book, then I’m gonna just call it quits at that point, so that I can have some down time before bedtime…
