Two-for-One

THURSDAY:

I just wasn’t really in the mood to blog last night, so I’m just combining two days into one post, in a two-for-one situation. So here’s a few photos from Thursday first… A stop at Frother’s Daughter for myself, and Jeff took both girls to camp and daycare.

Then we got off work early and went out to a retirement celebration for Jeff’s mom that her office threw for her. They had catering from The Wharf, and I’m pretty sure her whole office was there. She’s worked at Merrill Lynch for 29+ years, 19 of those have been here in the Tallahassee office, after she transferred from Atlanta. But she’s been working for almost 50 years combined, with all of her jobs and such, since she was just 16 years old! So that’s why Jeff’s younger brother Brad was here in town, for the retirement party. And some of their super close friends Hope & Robbie also came into town from Tifton. We had fun at the party, even if I was introverted and awkward around a whole group of people I didn’t know 😉

While we were at the party, my parent’s took care of picking up the girls for us, and took Emerson to gymnastics, and took Addie there to watch.

FRIDAY:

Today both girls were happy and ready to go for the last day of Mega Sports Camp for Emmie, and the last water day at GR for Addie.

And for the last day of MSC, they invited the parents to come for the closing rally, where they did all their normal fun stuff, and then Emerson and the rest of the cheerleading group performed a little cheer and dance for everyone, which was so cute!

This was Emmie’s cheer coach, Coach Hannah, whose done it for a few years in a row now, and Emmie loves her so much.

After we left the church, Jeff and I went to a new nearby Indian buffet for lunch, and it was so super delicious.

They had some beautiful potted plants right outside, and I loved these rain-soaked pink flowers.

We scrounged up some random bits and bobs and leftovers for dinner tonight, and then let the girls have popsicles for dessert, while we watched “The Greatest Showman.”

We had a very chill evening, not really doing too much, and then finally got started on bedtime. Little Addie wore her Little Mermaid dress to bed, and Big Sister Emmie wore Big Brother Ryan’s t-shirt that he forgot here, which we washed but she wanted to wear since it still smells like him and she misses him.

For tomorrow, we are facing the age-old dilemma of whether we go out and do something fun and summery once again (we’re considering a trip to a beautiful North Florida spring), or make ourselves stay home to get some rest and also accomplish some chores. We actually haven’t decided yet, so I guess we’ll make that decision early tomorrow morning…
