Yesterday afternoon, she told me she wanted to wear a romper. She had just woken up from her nap, still wearing her church dress, and we were on our way out the door, so I told her she could wear one today instead. And man does she ever look cute in a romper!
She was pointing at the big giant flat-bed semi truck, that was parked & unloading huge tractors, at the construction site across the street. She was pretty interested in it, and then changed her mind all of a sudden, and said, “I scared of big tucks!” So I scooped her up and she was so sweet and cuddly on the walk to her classroom.
I decided to give up on that last audio book I started, when at 43% into it, I couldn’t have cared less about the main character, much less all the side characters, or even the general plot. So that one got returned to the library, and placed on my DNF (did not finish) list on my Goodreads account. So I started a new one this morning, but already abandoned it by the time I got back to daycare this afternoon. There were too many blah-middle-aged-woman characters and I was already confused about who was who, about 15% in. I also just wasn’t into it. Life’s too short to read (or listen to) books you’re not into!
So I started another new one on the way home from daycare. We’ll see how this one goes…
Lunch today was leftover “horse feathers” from Friday night, and my current library book.
And Emerson had a good day at school today!
And look at these throwback photos from two years ago! Also, this was my first baby girl, Primrose. She was a Dachshund mix we reduced from the shelter, and I loved her soooo much! Unfortunately, she passed away only a couple weeks after these photos, in August 2017. But I miss her so much!
She was such a good big sister and protector!
And then here was Emmie from August 2018.
Oh, I finally downloaded and logged into the Wizarding World app on my phone, and played a little bit on my breaks at work today. Seems fun, and could get addicting! Who else plays?? I hardly ever even play games on my phone (I only have two others and rarely play), so this may only be a temporary distraction, but it’s fun for now!
We played for a few minutes while waiting on Jeff to get home. I usually can’t cook dinner until he gets home, because Emmie is so clingy to me, but will be fine if daddy takes her.
But we got started anyways, and look at this helper! Emmie “helped” stir the pancake batter, and Ryan really did help cook brinner! (Breakfast for dinner.)
Folding her hands to pray.
Ryan and Gabe cleaned their room today (they did a really great job!), and then Ryan made a little fort in their closet. Emmie loved hanging out in it after dinner!
She could not figure out that crazy Rubik’s cube though, or why it wouldn’t open.
She was a little crazy at bedtime, wanting hugs and kisses from brothers and Daddy, not once, but twice. Then she thought she wanted Daddy to rock her to sleep, but cried for me a few minutes later and we had to switch places again. She did finally calm down and we did prayers and lullabies, and she let me put her down afterwards.
Last night, we ended up watching “Oceans 8” and it was so good. But we realized the boys had never seen any of the Oceans movies! We decided to just finish 8, and then go back for the rest. So tonight we’re going to watch “Ocean’s 11,” hopefully followed by 12 & 13, if we can get our hands on them fast enough, since this is the boys’ last week with us. Off to movie time now!
