Tropical Toddler

As I was getting Emmie out of the car this morning, she got mad at me, because I wouldn’t let her bring her ball into school. I told her it might get lost or something, but it would be waiting in her car seat for after school. None of that mattered though, and she was starting to cry and be so upset. BUT then she saw Ms. Q getting out of her car and walking towards us, and look at this happy little girl! She still loves Q so much 🙂

Also, Grammy bought her this outfit, except it came with white shorts, but they are humongous on this teeny thing, so we had to improvise a bit. But I think it works with the pink shorts, and I also think she looks like she’s ready for a tropical toddler vacation!

She also found the muffins again this morning…

Even though Emerson only napped for 24 minutes today (what in the world?!), she still had a good day at school. When I asked her about her day at bedtime, she told me she had a biscuit for breakfast, and noodles for lunch. She also told me she made a mess (not sure doing what), and played with Play-Doh.

She was sweet and cute, and being super cuddly with Daddy once we got home. They got the mail together, and brought the trash cans down from the road, and then just hung out on the couch. She didn’t even want to watch videos or movies, she just wanted her Daddy! We did Trader Joe’s Chinese food for dinner, which is always a hit in our house.

Then she found a garden hose sprayer attachment, and one of her new Old Navy outfits, and was just wandering around with them. I asked what she was doing, and she was just casually like, “I swingin’ it.”

She did SO. GOOD. at bath time tonight. She actually even sat down in the water! Which she hasn’t done since like, March! She also didn’t cry or scream, even when I poured the water on her head. And she was just hanging out, playing and splashing, and having so much fun, I hated to get her out.

I can’t handle how cute she is, all warm an cozy in her puppy jammies and her hair perfectly combed. So stinking adorable!

As I was brushing her hair, she noticed the About Emmie poster on her door, and was naming some of the people she saw, “Daddy! Mommy! Pretzel!” I asked who else she saw, and she named “bubbas!” I said, “And what about the babies?” So she said, “Yeah, Ellie Grace!” (She always says her name, but can’t remember the other names.) I aksed who else, and she took a minute to think about it, and said, “Riley Pen?” I said, “Close! It’s Riley Lynn! Now what about Kensley Hope?” So she repeated that perfectly, and then said, “Daddy Hope?!” And I just laughed 😊

A quick drink of milk on the counter…

Jeff got this thing at a techie lunch & learn he went to today, and Emmie had fun checking it out.

We read one book, and she told me all about her day, and gave me found very sweet kisses (on my lips, both cheeks, forehead). She was making all these funny little faces, and doing weird things with her eyes and lips, and I was just trying not to bust out laughing while she was telling me about her day. She’s just the best little girl, and I love these sweet moments with her! After her three lullabies, she was ready to lay down.

I got all the dishes washed, and I’ve been watching Netflix while blogging. Jeff is doing some computer work for one of his side jobs, so I’ve got the tv to myself for a while tonight!
