Toadstool & Axolotl

Emerson chose her outfit this morning for Grizzly spirit day, and Addison was excited for another “new” (hand-me-down) dress, with princesses on it!

This upcoming Sunday is Grandparents Day, so Growing Room did a special grandparents day tea party this morning, and Addison had four of her grandparents all come visit her! She is currently the only one in the family in daycare, now that the triplets are in kindergarten, so she had the grandparent group all to herself today!

And we got a group picture of Emmie’s class at school today!

I didn’t have any leftovers or anything to bring for lunch today, which was fine by me, because it was pay day Friday and I treated myself to the grilled chicken bowl from the Filipino food truck parked at my building. I love this bowl and hadn’t had it in a few months, and it was just as delicious as always! And I got lucky because of the rainy day, and walked straight to the window with no line. No one else around at all actually. Usually, it takes about 30 minutes to wait in the line and receive your food, but today it only took me 5!

Jeff spent the afternoon working on his car in the carport at home (it’s always something when you drive older cars; but we’re trying to make our old cars last as long as possible!), then he came and picked us all up from school and work, since he dropped us all off in one car today. There was a super bad wreck on the interstate this afternoon, and it was making traffic really bad all over the place. So we decided to pop into Publix for a little bit of BOGO shopping, and picked dinner while we were there, and ate it there in their little cafe area.

And Emerson saw that Books-A-Million was in the same shopping center, and begged and pleaded to go wander around. And yes duh, of course we were gonna take her to the book store when she begged us like that! We actually didn’t buy anything, but took pictures of tons of books that we want to remember and add to our respective “to be read” lists, and also see what we can find from the library, since we’re a big library family.

Emmie and I also found some super cute little stuffies we both loved as well. Ever since we met up with my friend Emily and her daughter in Asheville in June, Emerson has been very into axolotl’s just like Emily’s daughter Kate was. These two stuffed axolotl’s are definitely cute, especially the super soft Squishmallow one. And I’ve also been into stuffies myself, and I loved this little toadstool with a blueberry mushroom hat (it had blueberries on top that you can’t see) and this turquoise mushroom too.

Emmie was just dying for us to get her a book, and this was the one she especially wanted. So like we did with everything else, we took a picture, but instead of just the book, Jeff got Emmie’s pitiful little face in the photo too, making the whole thing just oh so dramatic. It’s a little bit above her current reading level anyways, but we’ll put it on the list for the future 😉

And Addie Pie found herself a sweet little stuffed Stitch, wearing a big giant hair bow.

We didn’t really have plans to stay out until almost 8pm tonight, but that’s what happened anyways. So we did our usual things around the house when we got home, and then got started on the bedtime routine for our sleepy girls.
