Tiny Thief

So for the past two or three weeks, we’ve been searching the house for my old Kindle, because I was going to give it to my friend at church, Jalenia, who mentioned wanting one. I used to know right where it was, but then when I wanted to grab it, it was no where to be found. I dug around everywhere for weeks. Then this morning, the Lord led me right to the Kindle!! 😁 Addison “couldn’t find” her shoes, so I went to their shoe cabinet, and as I was squatting down in her bottom drawer, I was eye-level with the top of the cabinet, and lo & behold, it was just sitting right there, only partially hidden!! I had to take a pic to send to my friend after telling her all about the search last night. Literally no idea how it got there though, since both girls claim they didn’t play with it. When I sent the pic to Jalenia, she said it must have been the Holy Ghost that moved it! 🤣

These girls were extra cute this morning. Although I probably say that most mornings, don’t I?

Surprised and thankful for my little bosses day gift that was waiting for me on my desk this morning! I was also given a few lottery tickets too, and I won a whopping $4! Can’t wait to cash in my winnings 😉 But seriously, thankful for my little unit that I get to supervise.

After work, I got started on a new audio book. I haven’t really listened to one in a few weeks, since I’ve been listening to pretty much nothing but Taylor’s new album for two weeks now. But I started this today, and I think it’s going to be good! I’ve heard lots of great things about it.

Started a new Kindle book at Emmie’s gymnastics class tonight. This is a free e-arc from NetGalley, and I don’t know too much about it, but I’m hoping it’s a fall-themed rom-com. The actual color version of the cover art is so cute and fall-ish.

The sunset on our way home Tuesday & Thursday this week after gymnastics has been so beautiful. We’ve crested over the hill on Tharpe Street, and both just been in awe at how giant and orange the sun looked! Of course you can’t tell from a quick cell phone snap, but believe me, it was incredible.

Ok another long story… Earlier this afternoon, Pastor Brian (our senior pastor) texted myself, Jeff, Megan & Bo, saying that yesterday, he had left some note cards in the sanctuary in the afternoon, but by the time he came in for the service in the evening, they were missing and couldn’t be found. He asked the other staff members, and the cleaning crew, and no one knew anything.

But then they pulled up the camera footage, and found my little blonde hooligan running around playing with Jalenia’s daughter actually, who is Addie’s friend, also four years old. Actually, you can hear Jeff and I talking to Jalenia about looking for the Kindle at the beginning of worship team rehearsal while the girls are playing. Addie had grabbed the cards, they played with them for a few seconds, and then she ran around to the second row, and although we can’t quite see from the video, she must have stuffed them into the pocket on the back of one of the chairs at the far end, and no one noticed later during the service.

So at dinner tonight, I confronted the card thief, and this was the face of a guilty girl! I sent the pic back to the group text, and Pastor Brian said she’s “on the security team photo list now that she has a record!” 🤣

OK, I’v written a lot now, and I’m ready to just got sit down with my back on a heating pad and relax…
