I don’t really remember what she was looking at, but she was very interested in some things on the ground this morning! Haha 🙂
But she was just as happy and adorable as ever!
I started a new audio book on my drive back home after drop-off, and listened to it on & off throughout the day whenever I could.
Jeff had to run out on his lunch break to one of his side businesses he does IT work for, so I decided to do a short walk, just staying close to home since I’d be by myself. I found these cute little holly berries, and a beautiful blue butterfly again!
Since I was planning to walk a short stretch of road multiple times since I was by myself, I was very close to my house when it started lightly sprinkling and majorly thundering. So I cut my walk even shorter at exactly 1 mile, and made it home just a few minutes before it started storming and flooding!
I took a super fast shower, and then made myself lunch – sliced rotisserie chicken (my current fave lunch meat) sammich with double cheddar cheese today, with leftover gluten-free pasta salad from my Mama, and lite cranberry juice. It was all so good and felt light and refreshing, but also flavorful.
The rain cleared up for a little while, but then it came back again even harder this afternoon. I took a quick break to start a new Kindle library book, and had to turn on a bunch of lamps around the house, because it was so dark & stormy outside!
Emerson had a good day at school, learning about the letter “D,” and playing with bubbles.
With all the rain and bad weather today, a tree fell in our neighborhood this afternoon. It was completely blocking the road, and even fell across a power line. Even though it was only like 0.2 miles from our house, we were lucky enough to still have power all day and not be affected, other than having to zig-zag around a few roads to get to the other side of the downed tree.
We had chicken sandwiches with mashed potatoes and corn for dinner, and everyone ate really well and laughed and had a good time together.
After dinner, Nana, Tabitha (my sister-in-law) and her three boys came over for a little bit of playtime. Things were certainly chaotic, but the kids had fun together!
We had a little bit of a late night, and someone kept trying to insist she wasn’t sleepy, but as usual, she calmed down we went through our sweet little bedtime routine.
As I was rocking her and singing lullabies, she called for Daddy to come back, so he stood next to us. She actually sang along with me tonight, and I literally started crying as her and I both sang the lyrics, “At the end of the day, Lord I pray, I have a life that’s good.” My tiny little singing partner absolutely melted my heart, and it makes me excited for singing together for many years to come!
