Thumbs Up

Look how precious these two little sweeties were this morning! Grammy gave all the girls socks in their Easter gifts, and Addie clearly loves her new bunny socks, since she wore them home last night, slept in them, and then insisted on wearing them to school today too!

It was my turn again to take Emerson to gymnastics, so I got off work early to pick her up from school. I told her she could pick her snack place, as long as it was some place where Mommy could get some coffee! And she was like, “Well sounds like Beignets & Brew will be good for that then!”

And I did indeed get myself a very giant Biscoff cookie iced latte!

She also picked this place, because she knew she had a new, big library book, and we would have plenty of time to hang out in the comfy chairs and read after her snack.

She did great at gymnastics, and I got in lots of reading time there too, in between glancing up to watch her whenever it was her turn. We picked up Addie Pie really quickly, and then raced home to put together a cheesy chicken & rice casserole to bake for dinner. I washed a ton of dishes while dinner was baking, and then had a few minutes to sit down and rest before everything was ready. (Nana sent home some strawberry pretzel jello in this beautiful casserole dish of hers the other night, which I transferred into a couple of Tupperware; and I just had to use it myself tonight to make our dinner, which is actually her recipe!)

Emerson made Addison her purple drink tonight (one of those water mix-in flavor pack things), and was proud of herself for picking out a matching purple straw as well.

Then Emerson saw me take a picture of Addison with her drink, so she wanted me to take a picture with her drink as well.

And then Addie wanted to copy big sister with her thumbs up photo, but it took her about three times to work out a smile, a thumbs up, and looking at the camera all at the same time 🤣 But we finally got it!
