This morning was a little difficult getting up and ready today, as everyone was a little more sleepy and a little more grumpy. Emerson specifically was struggling, especially after she tried standing on top of the dog food bin and slipped and fell and scraped her side and fell on her ribs. If you look closely, you can see her poor puffy red eyes from crying.
So after we dropped off Addison (who was actually perfectly fine!), Nana came to the rescue to save Emerson. She picked her up from us, and took her for a little mental health rest day. They had Chick-fil-A breakfast before heading back to Havana. They spent some time at Nana’s house, and Emmie actually logged on through their computer to do a little school work, and she finished reading a book. But they also went out to do some shopping and get lunch together, and she got a new outfit from Walmart, and picked out one for Addie too. Some Nana time and retail therapy cheered her right up!
Jeff and I went out for lunch today, to use my free sub birthday reward at Jimmy John’s. Then we also wandered through the Goodwill on the Parkway, and I scored some great books! I actually paid with the Venmo money from my friends sending me money for the group purchase of our book club book, so I used book money to buy more books and so they were basically free with girl math 😉 Plus a little wooden Harry Potter puzzle, still sealed, that I’ll save for a little birthday present for Emmie.

We picked up Addie after school, and then out to Havana, where Nana had dinner cooked and waiting for us! This was actually leftover she had from cooking and serving their taco dinner at church last night, but it was still delicious, and meant I didn’t have to cook myself. I always love a taco salad!

Addison was very sweetly helping Nana wash up all the dishes from dinner tonight, SO serious about doing her job and getting ALL of the things cleaned.

When we got back home, we got everyone changed into pj’s and took their sleepy gummies, and then we sat down to watch Bluey. But when we pulled up Disney+, we found an old show that Megan and I used to watch as kids! It’s called “PB&J Otter,” and we were a bit obsessed with it. We watched a couple of short episodes tonight, and it was so cute and the girls loved it too.

They both went to sleep very quickly and easily tonight, because it was later than usual and they were exhausted. Praying for a better morning tomorrow. At least it’ll be Friday!
