Thomasville Day Trip

For breakfast today, I made delicious scrambled egg sandwiches with the farm-fresh eggs that my supervisor gave me yesterday. And they really were delicious.

Jeff and Addie did a quick run to Walmart to pick up our groceries, and we also did a lightning round tidy session in the living room. Then we got dressed and ready for the day. I told Emmie to pick out something cute, and girlfriend really delivered!

We made a super quick run to the library to drop off a few things, and also pick up a few things…

Then we hit the road for a little day trip across the state line, up north to Thomasville, Georgia.

We first had delicious burgers and the Q Cafe (highly recommended by my aunt & uncle for years), and the girls both had the smiley face pancakes (which I tried a bite of and were also very yummy). I had the bacon jam burger, and it was soooo good. I was too full to eat all the fries, but Addie took care of those!

Today was the annual sidewalk sale for all of the cute downtown stores, so there were tons of people out and about, with all sorts of goods and wares on display on the sidewalks to check out. Plus a cute little fresh lemonade stand that we obviously had o stop at.

And of course we also found one or two local coffee shops to get our caffeine fix. First up was Grassroots, where I ordered The Nutty Latte, which had hazelnut & pistachio, and I loved it.

Really, the main goal of today was to visit The Bookshelf. Recently, the owner of the store wrote a book, which I borrowed from the library and read just last week. But I loved it so much, and wanted to be able to underline and highlight and notate, so I just had to get my own copy. Addie picked out a little book too, and I also grabbed a mystery bag that had a t-shirt, and two more mystery goodies in it, for $20. The store is also just adorable too, and it had been years since we last visited, so it was nice to go back again!

And coffee shop number two was Pasco Coffee, where I got a basic pumpkin spice latte, but it was really super good. (I also really super love that Georgia state poster on the wall back there.)

Emmie didn’t pick out a book, but she did pick out this little dragonfly Palm Pal, named Dart, which she then carried around the whole rest of the day and night.

When we got back in the car, Emmie went right back to reading one of her new library books, and Addie fell asleep in about 30 seconds flat. She had skipped her normal nap time, and was definitely getting a little on the grumpy side, so she was definitely due for a rest.)

I love how she fell asleep with her little foot crossed over her other knee.

When we left Thomasville, we headed straight over to Nana and PopPop’s house for dinner with them. But on the way we made one quick stop to check out a Little Free Library that was just a couple minutes away from their house. Emmie didn’t find anything here, but there were so many good options for me!

I kinda forgot to take any more pics the rest of the night, because Nana and I were researching our dream dining room tables together, sharing pics and “adding to cart,” although neither of us is anywhere close to buying a new table and chairs right now. It’s just something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately, and would love to do one day… I want a bigger table, with more chairs, and something that will fit our mid-century 1960’s house. I actually found a really good option on Wayfair tonight that I kinda love, but it didn’t come with chairs, and the chairs would end up costing as much as the table! So I need to start a little savings jar and collect some funds before I can make any big purchase like this…

Anyways, here’s a cute TikTok of our Thomasville Day Trip!
