Thirtieth-Something

Jeff took both girls to school this morning, and let me sleep in, since I took the day off work for my thirtieth-something birthday today! 😉

When I woke up, I hopped on the Starbucks app to order my free birthday drink (a Venti pistachio iced latte), and a bacon gouda sandwich for “free” since I still had gift card money.

I lazed around the house watching a few episodes of “Younger” on Netflix (this is the second time I’ve watched the series and I just love it), then got showered and dressed for lunch. I met Mama and Megan at Siam Sushi for my favorite sushi lunch and Thai iced coffee. And Mama brought me gifts! (Photo later in the post…)

I love these two women so much, and I loved getting to celebrate with them today. It had been too long since the three of us had lunch together!

Afterwards, I ran around town doing fun little errands, like browsing the used bookstore, looking at dresser drawer knobs at Hobby Lobby, and finally getting a very much over-due pedicure. It was so quiet and chill in the nail salon today (much different than the weekends) and I loved it and got a lot of reading done.

And here’s all the goodies my Mama got for me! Hair claw clips, earrings, Wicked-themed nail polish, cute glass water bottle, very trendy new cross-body bag purse thing, and crispy chickpeas which I love snacking on and can’t wait to try that chili lime flavor which I’ve never had before. She did so good picking all this out, she knows me so well!

And since I got “Glinda the Good” hot pink polish on my toenails at the salon, I used my new green polish for my nails. I actually hadn’t painted my nails in over a month, so now that they look so bold and shiny again, I can’t stop checking them out! Love this “Ozitively Elphaba” green!

Jeff got off work early today and came home, so that we could take one car to get the girls before church. I had a $5 off coupon for Sonny’s so we stopped in there for a quick dinner. I got their new candied bacon Swiss cheese burger with crunchy onion strings, and it was goooood.

Before church, we had our little “Fun Arts” classes, so me and my one photography kid went to praise band rehearsal to practice taking photos in different kinds of lighting. He went all up on stage and got closeups of the instruments and he was just really going for it.

Meg and I sang on the worship team tonight for prayer meeting. Addie told her teacher, “Miss Jessica, take our picture and then send it to my Mommy!” After church, I helped Megan and Hayden get out to the car at the end of the night. He was being so cute and sweet and loving on me.

For bedtime, we went back to Emmie’s room again tonight, for Addie to “read” the same mermaid book again. She’s just so cute about it!

I had a great day today, getting to chill out, and eat delicious food with people I love, and relax at the nail salon, and read a lot too. Thank you for all the well wishes and texts, I am feeling all the birthday love tonight!
