This sweet little cherry girl actually let me do a ponytail in her hair today! Usually, she won’t let me, because she wants Miss Jessica to do it at school. But she let me today, and even if it’s not quite as good as when her teachers do it, I still think it’s absolutely adorable!!
After getting Emmie dropped off and school, I headed back home to have some breakfast before getting signed in for work. We had two leftover waffles from the other night, so I threw it in the toaster oven to get crispy & warm, then topped it with this Trader Joe’s pumpkin butter for something new & different, and it was sooooo good.
Meanwhile, behind me, the coffee pot was still hissing & sputtering but I didn’t pay it much attention. Turns out I should have, because it was overflowing all over the place. I didn’t realize it until it was too late, but when I made today’s pot, I forgot to pour out the remains of yesterday’s pot, and so it was overflowing all over the counter. Womp, womp, womp. I wish I had taken a second to grab a photo, but in my haste to clean up the mess, I didn’t think about it until it was too late.
I added a little extra ambiance to my “desk” today on yet another dreary, rainy day, with this cute tea light holder, and I burned through a couple of barely-scented tea lights throughout the day. And it was a lovely addition!
The caption on these photos below said they were holding this magnet, pretending it was the iPad and they were playing music. So cute!
We went over to Nana & PopPop’s house, and had Chick-fil-A with them for dinner, and then played around and hung out for a while.
Also, they’re back deck was recently re-done, and it looks so nice now!
She just leaned back against the chair, and PopPop lifted the foot rest, and she just glided straight into prime tv-watching position!
We had tried to go potty at Nana’s house before leaving, but she wouldn’t go. So as soon as we got home, I put her on the toilet for a few minutes. I started reading a book (we have a specific bathroom book, but it’s about going to church, not about going to the potty, it just stays in the bathroom, and we read every time to keep her there for a few minute), and she started getting mad about halfway through, wanting to get off the toilet. I knelt in front of her and hugged her, and told her it was ok, and even though she was upset and started to cry and scream, she peed on the toilet!!!
So for her potty reward, she got to eat half of this rolls of SweeTarts, so of course she was excited about that! I told her she could have the other half, if she would got potty on the toilet for me again tomorrow, so we’ll see how that goes tomorrow.
We played around a little too much before bedtime, doing some 2-person cheer stunts and showing her cheer stunt videos on Instagram, and teaching her to say “Go Noles,” which is what she’s doing in these photos below. Figured we’d get her started early!
She was being so sweet and silly and loving, and we played around being goofy just a little too long, so it was a few minutes after 9pm by the time I finally laid her down in her crib. Today was a crazy busy day at work, and my brain is fried, so I’m heading to watch an episode of “This Is Us” before heading off to bed later.
