This morning, Jeff got up early with Emerson and let me “sleep in” until 8am. Then I got up and made us egg & cheese bagels again today, and we both shared many, many bites with Emerson, even though she said she didn’t want anything since she had already eaten a Pop-Tart 😉
Emerson and I played in her room for a while, reading books and picking out next week’s outfits, while Jeff got started putting all the handles on all the kitchen cabinet doors. There are 26 doors, and each needed two pilot holes drilled, and the handle attached, so it was an “easy” job, but it took a while to finish all the doors.
We left Jeff at home attaching more handles, while Emerson and I made a trip to the Post Office, and to get our Walmart grocery order pick up. And look at how stinking adorable my girl is today! This is a hand-me-down dress we’re borrowing on loan from a church friend, and I just love it so much!
I had to beg her to let me do something cute with her hair, but she finally liked the idea of a braid. So even though it’s not perfect, it’s still pretty cute!
Oh she also found this Peppa Pig temporary tattoo today, and just had to have it put on her leg.
We ended up having to wait in line for 20 minutes, which is an eternity in toddler-time, but she did alright and “helped” me hold some things. I was returning some items to Old Navy I had bought online, and also giving them some letters that were sent for the home’s previous owners (who moved out over four years ago), that we’ve written “return to sender – addressee no longer lives here” and the letters have still come back to us twice. No idea why that was happening, but we just turned them in today and told the man, so here’s hoping they don’t end up back in our mailbox early next week…
After we finally got back home from our errands, my girl was hangry and tired. So we made her some cheese noodles and she had a go-gurt, and then she was more than ready for nap time.
We hadn’t had time to get ourselves any lunch while trying to get her down for nap, so I ordered CFA on the app, and Jeff ran out to pick it up for us. I absolutely love their honey mustard dressing, but I miss the sunflower seeds & croutons they used to give out with the side salads! (I do not like those crunchy bell pepper pieces.)
Emerson napped for just over two hours, and after eating and tidying up the living room, we just kinda of took it easy and rested while she napped. She woke up in a great mood, and was just super silly and sweet. (Jeff is in the background, working on more drilling on the cabinet doors for the hinges.)
She helped me upload today’s photos to the blog, and we also looked at some old photos and videos of her as a tiny baby, which she was absolutely enthralled with. And my heart melted watching the video of this 3-month-old munchkin smiling and giggling with those bright blue eyes.
After Jeff got a few more of the hinges attached to some more of the doors, we loaded up and went over to his parents’ house. The boys had a sleepover and Nana & PopPop’s house last night, and spent all day with them today, so we went over to have dinner at their house.
Gabe hopped on and yelled, “I feel like a kid again!” Keep in mind, he is indeed a kid, even if an almost-fourteen-year-old kid!
Then Ryan got crazy and climbed up the rope like a maniac, and did a chin-up from the top strap. Which was a good test of how well Jeff put up the whole thing!
We ordered a Chinese food feast from Bamboo Wok for dinner. We ordered about five different meals, plus egg rolls and crab rangoon, and just shared all of it like a buffet, and everything was delicious, as usual. Ryan and Gabe both ate a ridiculous amount of food, once again. But when Ryan tried his first ever egg roll, he said, “It tastes like new shoes smell.” Which I thought was hilarious of course!
A few weeks ago, Nana’s neighbor was having a garage sale, and Emerson spied this giant Mickey Mouse and asked Nana for it, so when she brought it out for her tonight, Emerson was so surprised and excited! The thing is bigger than she is, obviously, and weighs way more than her too!
Then she cuddled up with the smaller, Emmie-sized Minnie Mouse, and was fake snoring and was so funny about it. I’d never heard her do that before, and I don’t even know where she learned it! When I asked her who taught her that, she said, “Daddy does it!” Bahaha 😉
We were out late, but it was very easy to get her down for bedtime, since she was so tired. The boys have both showered now, and we’re settling into to start the third episode of Star Wars now. I have to wake up super early to be at the church by 7:50am tomorrow morning for rehearsal before the service, so I’m definitely not staying up too late.
