Cute girls, on their last day of school for this week. Addie wore a new outfit today from Walmart, and I’m obsessed with it! So cute, such fun colors, the ruffles on the shorts!

I took a very long “lunch break” in the middle of the day today, for a few things. First, I had to go back to the LCS district office again to get a new chaperone badge, because my first one got lost in transit somewhere…

Then I had to run by NFC to drop off some stuff. Next up was Circle K to get my sister a fresh ice cold Coke, and then I went for a little visit during her chemo treatment. She had a migraine this morning though, so they gave her some meds that ended up knocking her out for basically her whole treatment. So I was just yapping away for about 10 minutes, and her eyes were just drooping. She said, “Sorry, I can’t keep my eyes open.” I said, “Yeah that’s so rude of you. Now just go back to sleep sister.” So I just stayed and read my book for a while, while Bo got some fresh air out in the sunshine (since only one person can be in there with her at a time). She did well today, and made it home this afternoon. But the next few days will be the worst for her, so please be praying for her over this next week.

After that, I hit up a nearby Little Free Library, where I literally hit the jackpot. I usually don’t take so many books at a time from one spot, but these were too good to pass up!

And finally on my four-hour break, I tried a new-to-me food truck I found by perusing Google Maps. Fritanga El Tuani a Nicaraguan truck, parked at a car dealership (Ford, maybe?) on Magnolia. I asked the guy about the options, and decided to try the grilled pork plate with sweet plantains, which comes with rice & red beans and a little salad. I almost forgot about the salad, but after I started eating I dumped it out of the little baggie. It was more like a slaw than a salad, but that little cup of relish or whatever it is was delicious. And that pork was grilled perfectly. It was all so good!!

After work and school, the girls and I hit up another Little Free Library on the way home, and we all found something that we liked.

And speaking of books – here’s all the books I read in March!

And tonight was finally the night for Swamp Tuna! I shared the story the other day, but basically I saw a vlog about a houseboat on the bayou names Swamp Tuna, and I just had to come up with a cajun version of my traditional tuna salad, and here’s what I came up with. Not too out of the ordinary, but it did turn out very yummy! And I liked how much green stuff went into it, because it seemed like it should be all green and swampy to truly fit the bill.

And I splurged for the expensive low-carb keto bread, and it’s slightly smaller than “normal” bread, but it’s still just as yummy. And although Jeff and I ate and loved the tuna, I just made the girls turkey sandwiches, and we all had some fresh strawberries with our sammies.

And I also made one little glass of homemade strawberry lemonade, that I shared with the girls, which was so subtle and fresh and tasty.

We had a late bedtime, after just letting the girls play and hang out and finish “The Princess and the Frog” that we started the other day. Addie and her tiny Cinderella were so cute, matching in the blue clothes and blue eyes and blonde hair, just hanging out laying in Mommy & Daddy’s bed before we read a Cinderella book for bedtime.

Today was definitely out of the ordinary routine. I enjoyed getting out and about in the middle of the day more than I’m usually able to. Obviously the reason I saw Meg today was the worst, but I was still thankful I was able to do that.
