I got up at my same time as always today, but I made myself actually get ready earlier than usual, and helped Jeff get the girls ready as usual. Then I was out the door early, so I could take a detour to 7Brew for National Coffee Day, where they were giving away cute little state-shaped stickers.
And these little cuties with their slightly messy hair were ready for a new week of school!
For dinner tonight, I made Mexican taco skillet, with turkey, rice, black beans, corn, Rotel, peppers & onions. Then melted some fiesta cheese on top, and served with a dollop of sour cream, and it was so yummy!
Jeff told me I gave him too big a portion, but then he was the very first and only one to join the “clean plate club,” because the girls and I ate as much as we could, but the three of us couldn’t finish, because I did actually give us all huge portions on accident.
This baby sister though was killing it, just digging in and eating so very much. I kept commenting about what a great job she was doing, and Emerson would be like, “Well what about me?” And I had to remind her she consistently eats really good meals these days, and Addison on the other rarely eats an actual meal, and just always wants snacks on snacks on snacks. (Please notice her sour cream mustache.)
The girls actually had a bath before dinner tonight while I was cooking, so afterwards, they helped me clean up a little bit, and then we were all ready to sit down and chill out before bedtime.
I’m currently watching the season three finale of “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” and although I read the book, I’ve heard the show isn’t the same, and I heard it leaves a LOT of loose ends, because apparently there’s a follow-up movie coming sometime in the future. Anyways, I’ve actually like the show way more than I liked the books (which is rare, but apparently I’m not the only one who feels that way), and I’ve just flown through watching the series these last few weeks. I’ll be sad for it to end tonight!
Update – I just finished the finale, and I actually think everything wrapped up really well, and I was very happy with it, after crying through the last 15-ish minutes 😉 But, if they turn the tiny epilogue of book three into the major story line of the movie, that would truly wrap up perfectly.
