Substitution

Since Jeff was the one taking this pics today, I’m not exactly sure what was going on at morning drop-off today, but it looks like sister pics just weren’t working out like usual!

If I had to guess, stubborn Little Sister wasn’t in the mood for photos, and sweet Big Sister was just getting frustrated that Addie wouldn’t cooperate. 🤣 So then we got one nice one of Emmie, and one crazy face of Addie, and that’s as good as they could handle!

Sunset on our way home was so vividly bright and orange! I love that you can see the orange reflected on the hood of my white car too.

I had to do a little mini experiment for dinner tonight, and it turned out good! I had ordered fajita seasoned rotisserie chicken from the deli in our Walmart order last night, but we didn’t get it. So I didn’t want to have just plain cheese quesadillas, or just plain chicken, so I used a can of chicken and added half packet of taco seasoning and mixed it all up, and it was so good! I know that’s so minor, but I was patting myself on the back for thinking of that substitution as a back-up plan. (And honestly, it was way cheaper anyways, so I might do it this way next time too!)

So we had quicken quesadillas, with black beans and yellow rice, and it was very yummy. We tried to finish watching the last 20-30 minutes of Star Wars episode III tonight, but my poor sensitive little Addie Pie couldn’t handle it. When Anakin uses the force to choke Padme and she fell out, Addie came running to me and buried her head in me crying, saying, “I love Padme! I don’t want her to die!” She was seriously, honestly upset about it, so I had to comfort her and reassure her, and then we turned it off and watched Daniel Tiger instead. 🙂

My little bookworm curled up in my bed to finish up her Cupcake Diaries graphic novel, and so I scooched in next to her to read my Kindle book side-by-side.

And then after watching an episode of Bluey, we got the girls into their jammies, brushed their teeth and hair, and read a little book to Addison. Then Emerson and I relocated to her bed, so we could read another chapter in Harry Potter together.

Emerson fell asleep super quickly, and I think Addison did well with Jeff too. I’ve been watching a little mini docu-series on Paramount called “Don’t Date Brandon,” and it’s absolutely insane. But now I gotta go wash up tonight’s dishes, so they don’t pile up…
