As we were getting Emerson dressed this morning, she told us she wanted to wear tennis shoes. She then picked out her own shoes! We then had to change her shirt so it would match the shoes she picked out, but the outfit turned out super cute! 🙂
And she was super happy and clapping and sweet this morning, just like usual!
I love this canopy road in the morning sunlight.
And I’m loving these rice cake concoctions for breakfast!
Jeff and I made it back out for our lunch time walk today. The weather was actually pretty nice, and it wasn’t as hot as usual, and we did great! We walked 2.5 miles, but Jeff had to carry Pretzel for a little while, since his legs are so tiny and he was exhausted.
Emmie had a good day at school today with her little friends, and made some special for Daddy for Father’s Day, that I can’t wait to see!
Jeff went out and picked up Emerson while I finished up work, and brought her home to me, and then he headed back out to go do some computer work at his dad’s church. Emmie asked for strawberries for a snack, so we cut some up into a bowl, and took them outside for a strawberry picnic in the front yard!
The weather was pretty lovely, and we had a magical time out there. After finishing our snack, we read the book she chose, and then rolled around on the “walamelon” blanket for a while, with her climbing all over me and giggling so adorably.
She wanted to brush Pretzel, so she put on this pet-glove-brush thing, and gave him the sweetest little pets and he just sat there allowing it like a good boy.
I made us some super simple cheese quesadillas, with only one burner ont he stove cleaned off enough to actually use, since we still have supplies and hoopla scattered about all over the place. But it worked fine! And you guys, a simple homemade cheese quesadilla is really so yummy!
We watched the Disney+ nature video about brown bears in Alaska while we ate, and once again, every time there was a scenery shot, she got so concerned like, “Mommy, I can’t see the bears, Mommy!?” Then tv time was followed by drawing and playing and laughing, and lots of sweetness.
Sweet girl helped me get her ready for bedtime, then she had some fruit snacks while I read her bedtime stories. She was very sad that Daddy wasn’t home yet, so we called him on his drive home and waited until he got home so she could have some hugs from Daddy before going to sleep.
After he got home, things were fine and she went down easily. I however developed a headache at some point today (work was a bit chaotic today), and it still hasn’t gone away. I’m also super exhausted again. So it looks like we’re going to put off painting again tonight (although Jeff said he might do one coat of the white on the upper cabinet doors), and I’ll be going to bed early again tonight.
