Spring Has Sprung

We had the best spring day today, and the most “normal” Saturday in a while, and it was lovely! We got to sleep in till 8am (well, the girls were awake long before that), then have a leisurely breakfast, and I fell back asleep for a bit cuddling on the couch with the girls. Jeff went out to the carport to start working on stuff, and then the girls and I got ready for some of our Saturday errands. First up, was obviously a trip to 7Brew, followed by some time at the library.

Personally, I need both of these girls to stop growing up so fast, because they’re killin’ me with their beauty, and also their sass!

After the library, we picked up our Walmart grocery order, for the first time in like two weeks, so we were low on all the things, and had a lot to get today. Back at home, Jeff was working on the car, and his dad had come over to help out, so he hopped on the riding lawn mower and took care of mowing the front yard.

The guys ran out for some car parts (or something), and they grabbed lunch while they were out. The girls and I ate lunch at home, and then had “feet off the floor movie rest time,” watching “Wicked: For Good,” which was the first time for Addie. We watched about an hour or so of that, and then spent about an hour or so cleaning and tidying up in the living room, and both of the girls’ rooms.

Then I had promised them I’d take them to the park near our house, which recently had a complete overhaul of all the equipment. Some other kids showed up after a few minutes, and they instantly made friends and had the best time for an hour playing and screeching and running wild.

Before we went to Disney, I let them both pick out a new water bottle from Amazon, and they both chose very cute prints. And now they have fresh new water bottles for the end of the school year. I don’t know about other kiddos, but these girls are rough on their daily bottles, so it was good to get some new ones. They both matched their outfits today, and they match their personalities too.

We packed a bag of books, and an outdoor blanket, and took a little walk across the boardwalk for some time hanging out by the lake under the trees.

Today was my first time reading in literally nine days (!) since we were so busy at Disney, and then I was just too tired once we got home. Luckily I read quite a bit today though, and I didn’t ruin my streak of reading for 212 weeks in a row!

And when we got back home, the front yard was looking so nice!

The guys were still working on the backyard, so the girls and I finished watching “Wicked: For Good,” and they both did a little water color painting.

While Jeff got the carport cleaned up, the girls and I ran out to pick up a pizza we ordered, and hit up a Little Free Library (or four) on the way. This one we just so happened to find by driving a different way than usual, and I just looked over and saw it. It’s not on the map on the LFL app, so we really lucked out finding it, especially since Emerson found two Magic Tree House books (which she’s working on collecting the series) at this one!

After picking up the pizza, Addie was oh-so-sweetly and quietly reading her bedtime story book all the way home.

We ate pizza, and the girls had a bath, and then we got all ready for bed. Jeff barely got himself cleaned up and ate, before he just totally collapsed. They did a bunch of yard work, and also worked on Jeff’s car (which is unfortunately still not working), and Jeff cleaned up the carport a little bit too. They were both certainly exhausted but Jeff was very thankful to have some help with all those things today.

Both girls were also exhausted too, after all of our outside playtime together. The weather was just perfect though, so I’m glad we were able to enjoy it so much!
